1st, no a Customs broker and a CBP Officer are NOT the same, Customs brokers are private sector jobs...

2nd, Ghostshadow, you don't know shit about CBP... TSA screeners are baggage handlers with a badge, nothing more...

They should NEVER unionize those pukes, but the AFGE needs dues-paying members and NO they don't make anywhere near the amount of money that CBP Officers make...

If you're going to title your movie "CBP Officer Movie", you might want to include some actual CBP footage. Everything in the video is more than 6-years old. CBP hasn't used those uniforms in at least 5 1/2 years. Nice try.

Ive been told by those who just got hired by CBP that it like "TSA w/ a gun". Is this really true? I really hope not. CBP "seems" like a big step up from TSA.

it is in a way because your in airports but it could be alot different if your on the border or doing ports .... TSA is like a 4 week course ... while CBP is 3 months in a federal academy in georgia...

while yes cbp is in a 3 month academy but i heard tsa get tested 10 to 18 times ayear so who get more training cbp while at the acdemy 3 months? or tsa who get tested daily and up to 18 times a year?

well yeah im sure the country is testing the people who are responsible for checking items that go on the planes across the country... but i rather be labeled as a Federal Officer than a TSA person.... im glad i joined customs...and yes i believe CBP get more training than TSA... i dont think anyone in TSA can clear rooms, or disarms weapons, or arrest anyone... in fact when TSA find a crimminal they would turn them over to customs ( CBP )

ive heard the same ... since theres so many recalls of items now and theyre doing alot more work... itll be a while before they increase the pay though.... they will have to change the training and add so much more detailed work to the job before they add the wage

@babybron123 in my personal opinion why dont they just send all tso's to the academy and weed out who ever doesnt make it? thats the easiest way to get a more professional force

the academy wouldnt help a tso... its not the same type of job... lol... i know they work in airports together but trust me the job is way different... by the way.. the tsa pay tops off at G9..which isnt too bad but think about a G12 pay with 30,000 overtime pay a year???... lol

@GHOSTSHADOW1 Dude, honestly TSA is a joke. I'm not a CBP Officer but I respect them a whole lot more than TSA. I would personally rather work For OBP or OAM. I just don't like being static or working a booth. But yeah, I don't know what TSA's starting salary is but their journeyman level will never be on par with any of the other offices within CBP.
