like i told all of the other runners you jump and your out here please stop and think because you pratice to hard to be DQ from the race that we come to see in GM FROM THE USA !!
Ok and here is the real reason ppl: So the Chief starter for the JAAA has indicated that Veronica Campbell Brown did not false start in semi-final 1 of the 100m on Friday. He said that the gun failed to fire on the first pull of the trigger and was subsequently fired after the second pull, in essence because the 1st pull failed the race would have had to be recalled, whether VCB or any other athlete moved off before the 2nd pull.
all of u ppl are there so angered and yapping off ur mouths that VCB shud be disqualified but wen she goes to london weeks frm now and garner two golds for the country u will b showing off as if.....the judges sent her thru and none of the other runners call over and die so u guys just put a sock in it and drop it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Felix false started at the U.S. trials and was allowed to run. Why are we not questioning that. But, we are ready to crucify the Ja. officials for not DQ Vcb. The false start was charged to the starter---PERIOD!!! Leave it as that.
......people here are speaking as if VCB somehow influenced the official's decision...THEY decided that the fault was with the starter, not Veronica....so what exactly is SHE supposed to do about that? The starter did provide an explanation, that there was an initial click that coulde been mistaken for the actual firing of the gun, that something went wrong with the equipment.....so why all these arguments about fair is fair??? The fault wasnt with the athlete, so why should she take the blame??
@bgee4 No, Cheetah's analysis is noteworthy because it did appear that VCB false-started. I can live with the explanation, but now VCB needs to be very, very careful as she's gained a notorious rep (deserved, or undeserved) for catchin' flyers. The USA federation has compelled the IAAF to ensure they monitor VCB closely in Daegu as the JAM Nationals S/F & Shanghai wins serve as the probable cause basis. One doesn't want her to end up like Jon Drummond did @ the 2003 WC d/q after a f/s.
@kmb9624 "The USA federation has compelled the IAAF to ensure they monitor VCB closely in Daegu as the JAM Nationals S/F & Shanghai wins serve as the probable cause basis." Who cares about USA federation? Jeter still gonna get beat in Daegu just like she did in Berlin if that is what they gripe is about. Jeter might end up in the same situation as Edwards did in Beijing. They gonna get their ass whoooop in Daegu just like they did in Beijing and Berlin!
@Diafgadgsut You're totally missing the point.! If Jeter gets beat, which I doubt by the way, then so be it. However, The USA federation carries a great deal of influence. Trust the JAAA & Thunder Thighs herself knows it. I'm certain she and her coach will be doing a significant amount of start practices to help VCB control herself so that she doesn't make a mistake of anticpating the gun in Korea. The officals will be keeing in on her, believe that. Meanwhile, I wish her well..
@kmb9624 Who cares about USA federation? Jeter might just end up like Edwards in Beijing, more than VCB false starting in Daegu. They better prepare to leave Daegu with another ass whoooping again just like the ones in Beijing and Berlin.
@Diafgadgsut I'm more inclined to believe that an ass whippin' is forthcomin' to the USA men in the 100m, 200m and 4x1 relay - perhaps. BUT, not with the ladies. Jeter & VCB have to at least be considered co-favorites, slight edge to Jeter. Myers has impressed, so she could sneak in for a third. Stewart has been consistent, but not as stellar as in past years so I can only give her a perhaps equal third. SAFP, at this point, is not a factor. 10.95 just ain't gonna cut it.
@candikking They don't care about what they officials are saying because they have their own conclusions. The officials already said what the problem was the faulty gun and also the equipment does show that their was no false start in that race to begin with. They called back the runners because of the gun being faulty and an incorrect time would have been recorded of the race so the protocol for the situation is to call back the runners.
There is an international board that looks at these matters. We do not know what is the reason for the officials to state it is a faulty start. They obviously know why. But the ruling is final and cannot be retracted. I love VCB as well, but there must be an underlying reason ad-midst the clear false start. Lets just cheer her on and hope this error/mistake is not made in Daegu, bcz she won't be so lucky for an unknown anomaly to occur.
I luv VCB to death but come on man...this is a disgrace... even VCB laughed at the green card because she was convinced that she was out which rightfully she should have been... wonder what Sherone simpson who was 4th in the final and the MVP Track Club will have to say about this one
fair is fair, i heard another female racer got disqualified cuz she false started, this is the same damn inequality in sports i've been observing in jamaica, the elite athletes versus the amateur, or least popular...it needs to stop. hwoever i agree with the judges to not disqualify VCB this is a special and exceptional situation and people must be reasonable enough to recognize that
@TheMohanroache How can you start your post with "fair is fair" and conclude that because VCB is "special" rules needn't apply to her? she false started. the rules dictate that she be disqualified. this "special" argument can be stretched to any situation with your reasoning. So she gets caught using drugs? big deal. she's VCB. we can't have one set of rules for one group and another for others. That's FAIR.
its pointless that we argue over an issue such as this cuz at the end f the day politics will always run sports, this is inevitable...VCB is the best bet currently for wrld champs, she has demonstrated to us that much, now considering the nature of sports and its game elements why the hell wuld we want to leave out a possible gold medalist that can once again put jamaica on top f the world? a commander sends out his best solidiers even if they once slip up cuz they can get the job done
. It's pointless because nothing we say will change the outcome. But VCB being the best (possibly) is irrelevant. Rules are rules for a reason. They help to create boundaries and order. If we start bending them for the TOP athletes we gotta start doing it for the ones running 11.3s. Otherwise it's anarchy. What happened in this event in Jamaica is a disgrace. Period. Lending further credence that something fishy is going on over there.
@TheMohanroache Have u realized that u have contradicted ur own argument? Fair is fair yet u end by saying VCB is special and exceptions as such are reasonable?
like i told all of the other runners you jump and your out here please stop and think because you pratice to hard to be DQ from the race that we come to see in GM FROM THE USA !!
