But now their strategies has changed and these dictators are not useful for them anymore.
Those people who think that America is in Iraq for Oil; do they really know anything about politics and economy?! this war cost Americans one thousand billions of dollars $1000 000 000 000! if they take the whole Iraqis oil for 100 years they will not get their money back, what kind of business is this? I am IRAQI and there is not even one American company in Iraq the companies who work in oil Industry in Iraq are from , China, Norway, French, Turkey.. all these countries were against the waar.
Can someone tell me how Americans taking Iraqis Oil? how much??!! Iraq gets around 60 billion dollars per year from its oil, more than a half goes to paying salaries and the other goes to the different ministries. The only thing I know and care about is Saddam was one of the most terrible dictator in the world and he killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis civilians and their mass graves still exist. He destroyed and burned 4000 villages in Kurdistan and he had and used chemical weapons (in Halabja , where he killed 5000 people within 5 minutes) and he suppressed the revolution in the south of Iraq by killing more than 30 000 people in 1991.

I'm about to make an example, If a plane is on his way to crash, you can't just get in the cockpit for it to lift it up; of course it's going lose some altitude, but a few seconds later, you going be able to lift it up to his normal altitude.

Only then is there any chance of stabilizing the country. Piddling little surges won't help. But then, that would mean withdrawing troops from Europe & Japan, possibly losing Taiwan to China. Better lose Taiwan than mideast oil. Bush's blunder leaves the US between a rock & a hard place.

Idiot, the Al Qaida was in Afghanistan not Iraq. Saddam saw Al Qaida as enemy & so kept them out of Iraq. By invading Iraq, Bush has given a new cause for Al Qaida to get more recruits & grow powerful once more; Bush has been a blessing for Al Qaida.

We were attacked on 9-11 because of "Blowback" what this means is that they basically attacked us back for aour mideast foreign "policies"which included the bombing of Iraq for the previous decade the blocking of food and medical supplies to the Iraqui population, all of this a form of punishment to keep Saddam in check. neilc, The Al Qaida in Paris or Germany cannot be defeated by invading Iraq. You cannot defeat an enemy by invading randomly. When they invaded Iraq, there were hardly any Al Qaida in Iraq, because Saddam also saw them as his enemies. Now Al Qaida is all over Iraq. So, that invasion has been for the worse. If you not only read newspapers but also understood & remembered the world situation 5 years ago, you will understand this.

He was politically opposed to al-Qaeda and they were opposed to him. Futil, you ask for suggestions? Having blundered into Iraq in the most stupid possible way, the only way out of the quagmire is to triple the number of US troops there. Only then is there any chance of stabilizing the country. Piddling little surges won't help. But then, that would mean withdrawing troops from Europe & Japan, possibly losing Taiwan to China. Better lose Taiwan than mideast oil. Bush's blunder leaves the US between a rock & a hard place.
