May generate some ire here, but does anyone else kinda get sick of Petrucci when he solos sometimes? Like it's awesome that he shows off his skills, but it's just noodly noodly all over the place, and it never really feels like it GOES anywhere. At least when Jordan does similarly, it actually feels like it has a sense of DIRECTION to it.

Pretty evident here, and ESPECIALLY if you listen to An Evening with John and Jordan, where the latter outplays the former like mad.

I think both sides of DT made a mistake both Mike and the rest of the band. I think both sides just needed to take a break and do their own thing. Its sounds like to me that that DT felt sorry for Mike Mangini and let him stay in the band. I personally think DT is making a mistake. Mike Portnoy is known and has his own fan base. I think its a bad business decision the not let him back in

Liquid Tension Experiment is Mike Portnoy's side project away from Dream Theater, and Mike Portnoy did leave Dream Theater, or was forced out which ever version you choose to believe. Acid Rain is by far the best Petrucci/Portnoy groove ever recorded. Levin definitely had some influence in this. Just listen to them providing that backtrack for the keyboard solo. That, kids, is musicians in the fucking pocket!!!
