I just started doing the same work on my 98 open top. Also doing plastic/vinyl repair and touch up, lots of sand and dirt caked under the interior of my truck. Plus it looks like one of the PO's stripped 2 of the seat nutserts so that's something else to fix. Not sure if it will help much with the open top but it will help reduce the rattling a bit.
It was originally white. The last owner painted it green. The pieces that weren't painted were the bed and windshield frame. I recommend spraying the wheel wells with a bed liner, as rocks and objects get thrown there frequently and chip the paint. If you paint the vehicle, make sure you get the doors and jams. There are a lot of hummers out there that get repainted, and most of them miss the inside of the doors (and it looks funky). Do not to get paint inside of the door. Good luck

Good job. Was your truck painted white originally? I'd like to do something similar since I have to take my interior apart to fix some faded panels so i might as well sound dampen it at the same time.

@ 60 MPH
Before avg 88.0, After avg 83.5
Before min 86.8, After min 73.3
Before max 102.4, After max 95.9
@ 0 MPH
0 avg 83.0 avg 70.3
The biggest source of noise now is the windshield, so the hood needs to be insulated, and the gear shift box (needs a boot).
