Oh my goodness. I was 13 years old from Troop 103 in Williamsburg, VA. We travelled via steamer boat, B&O, to Baltimore and then by train to Valley Forge. One of the most wonderful times we all experienced, with the exception of the beginning of the Korean War. Lots of memorabilia traded, we used little vials of Chesapeake mud as MO Mud, as the battleship Missouri was stuck in the mud there. Thanks for the memories, great to see this movie. God bless.
My father was there-16 years old. He was from Sidney, OH. He passed away a few weeks ago. I He would have loved seeing this. Attending the Jamboree was the highlight of his youth.
It looks like you recorded it here with another video camera while projecting the original 8mm film. I recommend having the film professionally digitized and donating the original to the Smithsonian. They will be able to store it properly and preserve what is left of the color.
I was there with the San Fernando Valley (CA) contingent - 13 yrs old. We took the train from LA to Chicago, then the bus, stopping at all the historic sites along the way, to Valley Forge. I remember seeing President Truman and visiting Washington, DC and Mount Vernon later. What a trip for a young kid at that time! Thanks for the memories.
