Why kill off Susan ...its so weird- why not keep her and create stories around Them As a married couple..ton of fun to be Found there. an angle seinfeld didnt have
That is exactly what they did not want. If you remember the episodes where they were going to make a pilot there is a conversation about exactly this. Also, that conversation between the network executives wanting to see something between Jerry and Elaine is most likely a real life experience they had, as their is evidence that they tried this in the first season.
@wendel88 Because George's character is that of the "loser". So if he got married he would have succeeded in something pretty big. We would rather watch him continually mess up with one girl after another than to watch him hash it out with the same woman over and over.
@wendel88 It's a show about nothing - and half the point of it is that these people are trapped in a purgatory of repetition and hate their lives. You think they should have turned it into Everybody Loves Raymond?!
@snuhr if i may justify, because of total freedom, you know how parents, or society in general thinks "hey, you cant eat a block of cheese like that" but george is doing it do to total freedom, and part of a bachelor's paradice is freedom of expression, or total freedom, a form of symbolizim if you may.
"And then right after the All-Star break, we just SWEPT the Orioles! Four games! In Baltimore!" Has to be one of the most random things ever said in a cemetery.
@theQuestion626 they're incapable of experiencing the NOW. They're too busy analysing the moment in which they're living or ignoring it and cataloguing for future analysis.
@snuhr The Big Bang Theory, Two and a half men, The IT crowd, they don't have story, but they are very good tailored ones, of course Seinfeld it's like a sitcoms Bible!
@snuhr Really? It's not like seinfeld had a story. It was a show about nothing. Good shows of the last decade: arrested development, curb your enthusiasm, it's always sunny, how I met your mother, freaks and geeks. There's always tons of shit but there have been some amazing shows over the years.

They made Susan more annoying later on, easing our anguish when she died. We were glad George escaped. 'Summer of George!' On the Finale, it was a bad joke on us the viewers. @dabble778 That makes total sense. NewsRadio is still my favorite ever though. The first 2 seasons are the best, witht he original cast. The show just went down hill with the loss of phil hartman :(
@keyalpha1 It depends on the decade. Seinfeld was among the best of the 90s. I personally was a bigger fan of Mad about you but I LOVED Seinfeld back then. In the 70s/80s it was hands down "All in the family"
