  • how to make it a reg file so i can do the trick in one click

  • I don't want to disable my shutdown button in my start menu.

  • Works in Windows 7?

  • @Zacchi3000 Sadly, no :( Tried...

  • How to do the same thing in Windows 7?

  • how did you make it

  • We got windows 98 on our school pc's -.-

  • You can also do this in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  • I CANT OPEN POLICYS?!??!

  • Hmm, for some reason on Windows 7 the Explorer folder in Policies isnt there

  • @GlitchesRule741 FIXED, just create a new expand folder called Explorer

  • @GlitchesRule741 Or Vista

  • neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd

  • until last year i had a windows 98 in our class it was cool coz we could do anything on it no restricktions

  • @bluebeariscool ohmygod win. We have XP pro and everything is disabled. I can get to command prompt but certain commands are not possible to imput. and no way in hell I can get to registry. fff >U

  • @xXxEmogal999xXx yeah the win7 comps are alright but ill never forget the 98.

  • @bluebeariscool you guys got windows 7 AT SCHOOL :O

actually I did get an install disk and end up installing it on one of the school's laptops out of boredom =v= but you have no idea how lucky that is. our cheap-a55 district doesnt update stuff. Although, the only setback for win7 is the locked safeboot admin acc. TAT

  • Does this work on windows 7?

  • Awesome, Thats very useful when you have an important installation going.

  • Just press the power button on the computer... Duh...

  • Does Alt+F4 work with this trick?

  • Ok,... all went fine.. but I cannot use Shutdown.exe -s.... Its blocked.. How to shutdown please? (Hard Reset is disabled)

  • @Maximinators just turn off your PC via Power button

  • @MixerVM YEa but you can press the button to start it.. But the somehow blocked them for Shutdown. (I think it was to prevent Disc corruption)

  • @MixerVM you will be surprised how many people don't know that lol, also, disabling the power button in power options can make it more challenging but there are still a few more ways lol

  • windows key + L < ---- small L

  • what did u press at :57?

  • my trick-hammer, I dont think the pc will turn on again but sure a dude won't turn it on!

  • very neat indeed

  • This Trick works on Windows 95 as well, infact almost all versions of windows

  • disable 0?

  • does this work on win7 ???

  • Or, unplug your computer

  • Ahahaha i did it i my school! :D so funny!!! XD

  • thats is so super mean and neat. lol

  • its to bad that only admins. can do this because everyone one accept for one person is a standard user at my school lol

  • OMG... My pc on school does not allow you to use Shutdown -s ...... And it also does not allow to DELETE things from Registry..... I'm in deep shit!

  • @Maximinators hahahahhahahah you got caugh? LOL!!!

  • This doesn't work.....I tried it.

  • DO NOT TRY THIS AT ALL IF YOU CANT FOLLOW INSTRUCTION CORRECTLY.Regedit/messing with the registry is very dangerous business. You accidentally delete something wrong and important in it and you'll risk total system failure. Regedit is like the skeleton system of your body.It is not recommended for inexpert to dabble with this. It's funny as a prank but when something breaks, its not.

  • Why would you want to do this

  • @falcodomin8tor Well, best thing to do would be to just apply it to all users except one. That way you could log into the 'safe' user and remove it :)

  • LOL i did this too my school and the teacher thought the computer was broken so they have to fomat the computer XD

  • @DarkKyoger Hhahaha, lol

  • @DarkKyoger hahahaaha

  • how to remove

  • how did u make the task bar black and the start buton orange?

  • @TheRoadofDestruction i know huh its weird

  • best thing to do is make a batch file that shuts the computer down and put it in scheduled tasks- every log in. ( :

  • i will do it when i play than on a nigth my mother never cannot turn off my computer ^^

  • i got a power button on my computer and my keyboard :D

  • why dont viruses use this then so they can you ur pc as bots 24/7?

  • @arkonastriborg123 some might do.

  • @arkonastriborg123 People would notice and have an expert correct it... or they would trash the computer.

  • HeHe

  • Wery good lol

  • Wow! It's so simple!

  • they can just pull the plug

  • @hellohuy you should never do that while it's running.

  • @Computist40 i think i know that?, but other people dont, if they dont see an shutdown button off comes the plug

  • @hellohuy lol okay now i get what your tring to say

  • @Computist40 :)

  • @hellohuy does it work on windows 7 operating system?

  • HAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!

  • Lol im so going to do this on the library computers at my school

  • @BamfGamr lol! me too!

  • you sound like a nice guy

  • Fuckin brilliant! Thanks WizKid!!!

  • Command Prompt FTW!

so easy to do IP checks and commands from it :)

  • AWESOME!

  • Ferris? Is that you?

  • This is probably the reason why alot of apple users think that windows suck is because alot of people like to modify and play pranks on em'. Of course you could never do kool stuff like this on apples cuz Steve Jobs is strict about customization.

  • @itimiii He wants it his way! Haha :)

  • you ROCK!

  • This is proof that in skilled hands, editing the registry can be a very, very nasty trick.

  • Cool trick!

  • thanks man u rocks! now my PC is back to normal

  • Regedit rocks!

  • thats wat it does

  • you always use regedit!!!!!

  • yes it does and windows 7

  • lol i have the same theme. how did you get the orange start button. mines green

  • he might be using xp x64, it comes with it normally

  • its called the zune theme

  • or you could open notepad, type "shutdown -r-t-f" or "shutdown-s-t-f" (the "-r" stands for restart and the "-s" stands for shut down), then save it as shutdown.exe, then right-click the icon and click "create shortcut". That's another way to shutdown you're computer.

  • good :) i like it :D

  • hehehe that teaches my dad never to shutdown my pc when im installing somthing :P

  • @adliikhwan280 i know the feeling :/

  • @adliikhwan280 He can still press the power button retard.

  • @adliikhwan280 :D nice idea

  • @adliikhwan280 dude O.O i never thought that way wow creative thinking dude HIGH FIVE!!!!!!!!!

  • @adliikhwan280 he can always hold down the power button.

  • @adliikhwan280 *hits the button on the pc* There we go.. :)

  • Why dont u just use the off button on the front of your machine :/ or does it disable that too?

  • If you use that to turn off your computer, it can mess it up.

  • No it can't. if you just click it, its the same than the button in the menu. (of course the removal of that button doesn't affect the cocmputer's "real life" button)

  • @TkMToM1993 if you push the power button, all unsaved data will be deleted

  • well then save before you shutdown....

  • and so will the data be deleted with the menu button....

  • No worrys, patched it ;)

  • ty omg genius :P 5 stars

  • hah it didnt disable it for me, the button just dissapeard :p cool tho,

  • @dannyXX1 haha same comment..lol

  • @randy97590 xDDD

  • @dannyXX1 Yea, but first check if you can use "shutdown -s ..." or else you are in DEEP shit...

  • @dannyXX1 they've already done this at school. the server admin. not me :P

  • @dannyXX1 I did it..... THEY WERE PISSED OFF!!!!

  • how to hibernate?

  • gimme watcha got man! i will change my startup logo from Windows XP To WIndows 95

  • whats the shut the -S thing? to shut down

  • Yep,it is to tell the program to shutdown the system

  • You can also make the power button on your computer restart itself. Funny to do that in combo with this.

  • hey what edition of xp are you using, looks awesome.

  • go to google and search: Zune Theme

if you dont know how to set it just ask.

  • Is XP with Zune Theme

  • can you just put 0 for the vaule insted of delete it/??????

  • Yeah, I do think so because 0 is like anywhere in the world (except the Area 51) false or F*** it all :)...

BTW nice thing to drive your friends crazy :D ...

  • Oh well, i guess i'd be pissed off if they did it to me...

  • this could be done veeeeeeeeeeerrrrryyyyyyyyyy eaaaaaassssssssssyyyyyyyyy with Windows SteadyState!

  • fuck you

  • I am boomboosche to them.

    What are they!?

  • lol does it mean we cant shutdown?.. and btw if someone did the prank for 10seconds i think no one can do it that fast

  • This is good for workplaces and public computers

  • not anymore ^^

  • when i first did it it did show it and when i click it just switch off my computer..but when i start it up again it wasn't there...so....lol

  • You can do this also with the group policy editor (gpedit.msc)

  • its great!!!!

  • LOL!

  • does this work with Vista?

  • the registry will be a little different but you should be able to find it.

  • ahh nvm wasn't in the user one haha :P

  • wtf no explorer folder on my cpu

  • You're not meant to be looking at the CPU, only the registry editor

  • uh if u saw my other comment i was in the wrong folder and i was in registry dur

  • did you know microsoft released BSOD prank software. It detects the system and simulates its BSOD then restarting the computer. Most antivirus programs detect this as an unwanted program although its harmless.

  • use tuneup utilities instead

  • I TRYED THIS ON MY 1999 WIN 98 COMPUTER xD it works! :D

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh:

    1. Start regedit.

    2. Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters

    3. Create a new DWORD value and name it CrashOnCtrlScroll

    4. Right-click on this newly created value and click on Modify

    5. Enter 1 in the Value data field and click on OK.

    6. Close regedit and reboot your system.

    7. Now you can crash the computer by holding down Ctrl and pressing Scroll Lock twice.

I think it works in Vista and 7 - you can try it.

  • Another way to trigger it is downloading a third party task manager (killprocess etc..) and ending winlogon.exe or csrss.exe Enjoy!

  • Yeah, i made this a day and i get scared!

  • where did you get that cool pointer? please pm me

  • he has it on his webpage

  • ok, thanks

  • There's a way to bring up the blue screen when you press scroll lock.

  • OK how?

  • It would have been easyer 2 do this with a vbscript

  • once my friend was taking a shit and I did that, and he came back and was like wtf

  • he might have said "WTF did this gonna pay!"

  • What shall this be good for?
