  • nice set !

can u tell me how much watts per channel the yamaha AS-700 have

    ?

  • @AcidForShoshana 90 watts per channel

  • SUPER!

  • @AGAAification Thanks!

  • @AGAAification Thank you very much!

  • I'm considering getting a pair of these speakers, how do they rate and anything that would out do them in a similar price range?

  • @JBarnsticle These are very good speakers for the price. I have tried numerous speakers in this price range and the only speakers that i have found that outperformed these are the Canton Ergo bookshelf. You can find them on Amazon.com for a pretty good price.

  • have you thought of bi-wiring your speakers?

  • @vdn17 Unless it's bi-amping, I don't really believe in bi-wiring

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Arcamfmja32 Thanks!

  • very nice setup.

I was really close to buying a NAD amp-cdplayer set when I saw this video. Decided to listen to Yamaha before. It is indeed impressive what Yamaha has done with this S-series. I agree with one of the colleagues here that the S700 sounds more refined than the AS500, however, your pocket would know better ;-)

They are both excellent for the price. To the guys who are in the decision phase, please, go and listen to this ones.

  • @contatoandre Yamaha do make some very nice amps out there now and they really do sound more "modern" with their new integrates. But you might want to also listen to some of the Onkyo Integrated Amps. In my opinion, they are very smooth sounding with no harshness in any frequency range.

  • wicked setup where did you buy your rega

  • @PuffSmelly Bought it at Dallas Concept Audio

  • hi i own the as-500 how do you think this will sound to your as700 will i have enough power to power these ?

  • @charliemasheen I have heard the AS-500 before and the power will be on par with the A-S700. The main difference is the fact that the A-S700 will ultilize better components therefore the sound will be more refined. The midrange on the 700 is more clear and the bass is more tight when you play at louder volume. But for the money they both sound good and worth it.

  • The new Yamaha integrated amps are nicer than the previous ones. I actually listen to alot of amps before deciding on this particular amp for my bedroom set up. I am sure that a dedicated phono pre-amp would make an excellent choice and it's something that I will look into pretty soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Oh, yeah, we have this Amp also, and yeah, the sound really is involving. Very good for long easy listening, not fatiguing, but much more revealing than the old Yamaha amp it replaced for us. Plenty of oomph so that it sounds effortless. Very nice natural sound.

Now looking at the S700 CDPlayer to replace an ageing Marantz...

  • Whilst we have always just bunged the Turntable into the Integrated Amp's phono, and utilised the inbuilt MM phono pre-amp, maybe the tone can be improved by using a dedicated phono pre-amp?

It has been widely noted in many reviews that Integrated Amp's typically have lousy to serviceable inbuilt MM phono pre-amps. I think the A-S1000 and 2000 have the choice for MM or MC. It is still recommended to get a 3rd party pre-amp.

We never have, but, hey, something to think about perhaps?

  • nice sound!

  • @bronskiwantsyou Thank you very much!

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I wish I could have more space to isolate the turntable. I am sure it would sound even better than my current setup. I am thinking about upgrading the turntable to the Rega Performance package. I heard it's suppose to improve performance significantly. Thanks for watching!

  • Great video. Just a suggestion. Place the RP1 in an isolated base ( a table, for instance, and check the correct level ) Try to isolate the RP1 as much as you can. The Rega´s turnable in general, and specially the RP1, need a good isolation . You will note that this incredible turntable will play even more.

  • I think that you cannot go wrong with the RP1. You should also consider the Project Debut III turntable since it's also a very good player. Thanks for watching!

  • I think think it's great. I'm considering an RP1 myself
