I learned this song by ear. But Guitar Hero actually does help if you're trying to play GH songs on a real guitar. It's good for seeing where the chord changes are and getting good timing and there's some excellent beginner songs on GH too.

heres an easier way to play it=

same first power chord, move the power chord up with the index on the e string 5th fret, move up to index on the index on the 9th fret, then down to index on the 7th fret. the rest you should be able to figure out.
