There is no purely capitalist or socialist run nation. Both ideas have good intentions and sound nice like anything else. But, books and ideas are perfect, people on the other hand are not.
Socialism can be good in small doses. But communism should be thrown to the ash heap of history, and pissed on. The only thing more annoying than communism, are the people who keep insisting that it works.

In my opinion, the most advanced societies in the world host a mixture of both capitalism and socialism. Going middle-of-the-road is best, not too far left or right.
The problem is there is no mix that has ever worked in any industrial nation ever come to fruition. You cannot mix private and public ownership of the economy, the State cannot own what is held in the private sectors hands you have one or the other.

Both the US and USSR benefited from calling the USSR communist in that the US could create the evil "other", and the USSR could legitamize a totalitarian regime in the name of a workers state. The USSR was "state monopoly capitalist' and by definition cannot be communist because the government is eliminated in a communist society.

What misinformation is there, USSR and PRoC both started out in Marxism. In Marxism there is no overnight loss of government since no nation can survive that. Anarchy is not a viable system of living. Marx himself spoke of the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Both the US and USSR benefited from calling the USSR communist in that the US could create the evil "other", and the USSR could legitamize a totalitarian regime in the name of a workers state. The USSR was "state monopoly capitalist' and by definition cannot be communist because the government is eliminated in a communist society.

America has over 4 million homeless, 1 in 5 children starve, and 66% Americans sleep hungry. It also has the highest prison rate in the world and one of the highest crime rates. where is the freedom?
