  • LOL He said Clitoris. LOL!! No really though... if you can masturbate and not have any lust at all... there is something seriously wrong with you mentally!!!!! It's semantics... lust is a sin so masturbation is also. Unless that lust is for your wife as he said in the video... then just make sure you've got some KY...

  • @lazybear427 that entire chapter talks about 'uncleanness' and after the cleansing to go to the priest to make sacrifice. This could make it seem like sin until u read that after a woman is done with her period is to make the same sin offering.

  • So many things I could say here. Masterbation is usually fruit of sinful thoughts. But what if those thoughts are of a mans wife while he is away for months at a time? Is he in sin if he masterbates thinking of his own spouse?

  • the jerry springer of the pulpit

  • My brothers and sisters regardless whether you agree with this mans interpretation of the word of God is one thing, but this vile communication (hate, swearing, condemning) must stop now. The tongue is the most wicked muscle in the human body. do not allow the the same mouth you praise god with also be used to praise Satan with. Remember Love thy neighbor as Christ so loved the church. God bless

  • I have a pretty direct verse about masturbation, LEVI 15:16-18 that talks pretty directly about masturbation.

  • Lol people were having sex and jacking off WAY before the bible or any religion at all came to be. so every early human went to hell? Oh wait adam and eve... so they had religion(you may think) but they didnt get married they didnt even have language... so my point still stands.

  • Then Judah said to Onan, "Go in to your brother's wife, and perform the duty of a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother." But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother's wife he spilled the semen on the ground, lest he should give offspring to his brother. And what he did was displeasing in the sight of the LORD, and he slew him also. Genesis 38:8-10. The Bible both says something about it and condemns it. Sorry Mark, try again!

  • Interesting topic. I would say that we need to define what lust is. Surely if I lust over my wife, or she lusts over me, that is not sin. Now define marriage. A covenant between a man and woman, right? Why does it always have to be a legal document to do so? Or even the church? Shouldn't that covenant be that both that man and woman be faithful to each other and live their lives accordingly with their spirits in harmony? I think the covenant should be more of a promise, not just a document.

  • The description.... LOL

  • I don't know about this... I'm not a bible buff but to paraphrase, if you're eyes cause you to sin... gouge them out because it would be better to be blind than to be thrown into hell, and.... if you're hand causes you to sin, cut it off because it would be better to be crippled than to be thrown into hell...

  • These sinful lusts rage WAR against our Spirit. Temptation is a bitch, and we gave in. but by the Spirit and the Grace of God, through Jesus Christ we can mortify the deeds of the flesh and overcome these worldly temptations. It is the battle of Spirit vs Flesh.

For if ye live by the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, YE SHALL LIVE. Romans 8:13 KJV

  • Does anyone realize he mentions the word "masturbation" 26 times just within a brief few minutes? There is a way to communicate truth about sex without titillating the audience Mark. It's called "discernment."

  • Genesis speaks of spilling your seed being looked down upon by God.

  • What is of the flesh is sin

  • damn you are a liar. i subscribed to u....and NOW...imma unsubscribe again. because everyone knows masturbation is a sin and ur just talking crap that has nothing to do with what jesus wants for u.

  • @ThierryMuggler Did you even watch the whole video? He said sin is a masturbation on the basis of you can't masturbate without lust thus masturbation IS a sin. What don't you understand about that?

  • this is one thing i have to disagree with about mark truly masturbation is a sin

  • This guy speaks nonsence and should be ashamed of himself saying that masterbation is OK! How does masterbation help you grow spiritually?? It dosent! Masterbation is a sin cause its what our flesh wants not wat our spirit wants

  • @JNITROO How does eating donuts help you grow spiritually? You don't need to eat donuts, but you can and you probably do because you enjoy it. But donuts are very unhealthy for the body, and the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Shouldn't you then abstain from donuts and any other unhealthy food to honor and care for the temple of the Holy Spirit? But you probably eat unhealthy food because it's what your body (your flesh) wants because it tastes good and you enjoy it.

  • One thing I can say is that masturbation is rarely ever committed without something lustful on your mind .

  • what about jelqs which seems very close to masturbation but is a excersize that actually helps the penis grow or what about PC kegel muscles so the penis & vagina muscles can be stronger for your spouse .

  • How awkward is this?

  • @FeeneyAaron That's one of the reasons I love Mark Driscoll; he's not afraid to address awkward topics.

  • starts @ 2:00

  • Masturbation and sex are beneficial to your health. Abstinence on the other hand produces health and psychological problems (and "lustful" thoughts: if you are always abstaining you are always thinking about it. It's like always thinking about piss when you need to pee, it's normal, not a sin). I understand why the bible would condemn sex: it was the only form of birth control back then. Not an issue anymore. Stop whining and start living, the real world is awesome. Greetings from an ex fundie.

  • @chriswonderboy There is a point where you are going through puberty, where you constanly have thoughts but its up to the person to reject them. Idk anyone that holy at that age, but its not an excuse. Then you can abstain from pornography, and other ways of seeing things that ar inappropriate, and the thoughts are not as rapid. But they still stick in your head. Then after not yanking off on yourself for a while, night emmision will be less constant.

  • @JeshuaLivingWord idk if it just stops. prob not. But you can fight back temptation to masturbate. But if you feel you cant "better to marry than to burn with passion" (bible). But masturbation is obviously not good. Christian or not, just look at your conscience, its disgusting.

  • Comment removed

  • @chriswonderboy Masturbators are not necessarily harming society, but the abundance thereof are evidence of an already broken society. Sexual degredation in society begins with a lack of care for the "little things". Sweden is notorious for fornication, and yet are being destroyed psycologically..the two go parallel. When we go from an idea of wanting to be pure, to "well this and that are okay" and comforming we fall. Without purity none shall see the Lord. I strive for purity.

  • @chriswonderboy and "masturbation is beneficial to your health" is a lie. You continued to sayit produces lustful thoughts. Thats just the same as a drug addict. If you are addicted, and stop for a while, you will, for a time, have physicla problems and think about it alot. But eventually they will fade. And the bible doesnt condemn sex. It condemns sex without love.

  • I churned my own butter once. It was fun :P

  • @GDOBSSOR me too t'was great

  • if you dont masturbate then you'll have wet dreams anyway..

  • ut Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother's wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also. Genesis 38:9=10

  • So from this guys answer if your single masturbating is not a sin? I find that very confusing as I'm single and my consciousness tells me what i'm doing is wrong.

  • @k12rising he is wrong on that. Watch this video watch?v=EjNK5SuWOIs

Your conscience is right, and so is mine. Its easy to just sit back and accept it, but watch the video and you will see. Conviction of sin (regardless of what preachers say) is the work of teh Spirit, and saying "well my preacher said" isnt going to be an excuse on judgment. Tell me what you think

  • what the flip. i dont know whether to accept what this guy is doing...or call him a heretic.

  • @JeshuaLivingWord What was said in this video that you might consider heretical?

  • @theanthill1001 Heretic = choosing ones own way (contrasting the original Way/teaching). Well...if i had a wife (im a freshman in college so not yet..) but somehow dont you think its kinda disrespectful for me to even think about treating a woman that way. Having the audacity to tell her to do things sexually that actually have been proven to harm her not only physically, but psychologically? Jesus would say theres only one way to do it..and everything else is disgusting.

  • @JeshuaLivingWord So.. the thing that you are calling heretical is.. not actually said in this video at all. I don't hear this suggesting at all that you "tell her" to do something she doesn't want to do.Where did you get that idea? Of course, what a horrible thing it would be. Secondly, are you suggesting that it is wrong for a husband and wife to give each other sexual pleasure without penetration? Where did you get that idea? Do you think that people don't touch each other during sex??

  • @theanthill1001 Ni hao theanthill1001. What i am saying is, there is only one right way to have sexual intercourse, where adn when. Im 18 and in college, and obviously this is going around all the time around me. But you can see how it affects people. First, before marriage, usually puts the female in the subconscious point of feeling dirty. Ive seen it, and she'll either keep doing it until the conscience is seared, or regret it and stop. The guy, well i differnt from steryotype

  • @JeshuaLivingWord s that are always seen in movies..although lots of times, not all guys are raging looking for lots of girls. For both, sex makes an intimate bond between two people, both physical and mental. And i meant, just treating your wife like a whore, and just doing whatever feels good to you is not right. Ppl touch, but there are things that are wrong, that i dont need to explain in depth. Get me? Its both health reasons, but mainly for honor and respect.

  • @JeshuaLivingWord Im not married yet. But its just, i couldnt think about even daring to request doing something to that woman that is disgusting, and making her into a call girl. Thats just ridiculous. I fight everyday with temptation in pornography and other girls that dont know anybetter but just want sex. Im not that kinda person. Whether its enjoying a broken girl get battered for the next meal on a dirty website, or doing it myself, both are wrong. Im not followin crowd.

  • @JeshuaLivingWord so a man's stance on masturbation can make him a heretic? Nevermind where he stands on Jesus and important doctrine.

  • Masturbation is not just something set apart, or a doctrine that can be debated and agreed or disagreed on like the idea of head coverings or something. It is a sexual sin to the point that someone caught in it in all actuality, stands AGAINST Jesus and His important doctrine..ie purity, holiness, love. And leads towards sensuality, sexual immorality, etc. Watch this: /watch?v=EjNK5SuWOIs The sexually immoral cant inherit God's kingdom.

  • @TheWilfMott im not trying to have an internet debate or anything, it is just, if we look at these things as light matters..satan is like a serpent that sneaks up closer and closer if we dont stop him in his tracks. Masturbation okay? It is an act that does not glorify God, and leaves the person feeling guilty...its "little" issues like these that actually make up the contrast of the "important doctrine", like i said before. just tell me what you think of the vid.

  • this pastor is very straight forward and hilarious LOL

  • This video helped me stop lusting. Masturbation in it of itself is not the sin, it is a biproduct of the sin of lust. If you try to fight the masturbation, and not the lust, you will fail, and you will end up masturbating. If you fight the lust buy blasting it with scripture, you wont feel the need to masturbate is what is going on. Thank you pastor mark, and Praise the lord!

  • So is it cliTORis or CLIToris?

  • What a great guy!!!!

  • I think this Homo Sapien theist is alright, even if I disagree with about everything he has to say. Pretty funny too.

  • canal christianity is what this people are., what they preach doesnt even convict sin in the hearts of people.

The apostle Paul says; But we preach CHRIST crucified a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to gentiles. The message to Rob Bell and Mark is REPENT

  • Okay, argue whatever you want. This guy is obviously only so uptight about the subject because he doesn't masturbate enough. Poor chap.

  • @TheHuntress144 but the bible does say "thou shalt not kill" so there's your answer to abortion being a sin.

  • @Yikes1992 here's hoping you are a vegetarian then...assuming you are christian

  • @TheHuntress144

    "FUCK this asshole."

What does the Bible have to say about THAT!?

Planks and specs come to mind.

  • Wow that is the best message I've heard yet on masturbation. I'm glad Mark confronts it head on and tackles the issue at hand while many other pastors shy away from the issue. I must admit I do struggle with it big big time.

  • Kudos to you if you can think of nothing while masturbating and achieve an organism . Personally, I could not masturbate without lusting after a woman, it's the very reason I do it. So I stay clear of it and things that could lead me into that temptation.

Did you miss the part @ 3:45 where he said "if you could find a way to masturbate without lust, then your not sinning... but.... your weird!"? I think the idea of a pre adolescence child masturbating is kinda weird.

  • @myheadface "I think the idea of pre adolescence child masturbating is kinda weird." Good for you? It happens regardless of what you think. And since most 4 through 9 year-olds don't watch porn, it means they aren't lusting after anything. Masturbation and lust have different meanings, which is why they are different words and in no dictionary on the planet are they synonymous.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM Um... this topic is not directed towards pre-adolesencent teens... so your point is completely in left field and irrelevant. This is about adults struggling with masturbation and lust. So please answer my question in regards to "adults" and masturbation?

  • @harvestsoulfly Define struggling. Because there isn't anything wrong with an adult masturbating every day, or even several times a day. The point at which it interferes with someone's responsibilities is when they should seek help of some kind. People who are addicted to porn are masturbating are just like the people that are addicted to alcohol. They need help and they need to understand moderation, but just because some people become addicted to or reliant on it does not mean that it is bad.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM You eluded my question... (again).

So you say it's ok to masturbate several times a day... but it's not OK if it interferes with someones responsibilities. Could you be more specific please? What responsibilities are you talking about? Because if your doing that several times a day it sounds like it has control over you, even if you leave porn out of the equation.

  • @harvestsoulfly If you are watching porn or masturbating and you start skipping out on work or school, if you ignore your friends and family, if you don't meet your basic needs of eating and sleeping, you have a problem.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM I'm led to believe your missing the forest for the trees. The more you masturbate, the more testosterone your body creates, therefore, the more you need to masturbate. It's like watering a weed, it will keep growing out of control and eventually spread more weeds. So having a 3 time a day habit could very well lead you into missing school, work, get into raunchier porn and then... possibly prostitutes. Stay clear, drop on your knees when the thoughts consume you and pray.

  • @harvestsoulfly That it could. However most people who masturbate do not do it that often. Many people masturbate and do not face the problem of addiction. Just as many people drink in moderation and do not become alcoholics. You cannot condemn the whole idea of an otherwise healthy, natural human incentive just because some people abuse it.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM First off... How can you speak for most people when it comes to masturbating? Second... there would be no questions, doubts or convictions if masturbation was OK. It's not OK, it's a sin.

Masturbation... "a natural human incentive". Incentive for what? Perhaps you meant "impulse" due to the sinful nature of our flesh?

  • @harvestsoulfly "The consensus of those doing a statistical analysis of who masturbates is that around 90% of the total male population and 65% of the total female population masturbate from time to time." If the over whelming percentage of people who masturbate had a serious problem, it would be a much bigger issue that it is at the moment. Masturbation IS OK, masturbation is healthy, maturation is fun, masturbation is natural, and maturation does not harm anyone.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM I agree. It's fun. Sin is fun and that's why we sin sometimes. It does not make it right before God. I know that it's not harmless, It can destroy people's life's! You had mentioned this earlier to me.

  • @harvestsoulfly Exploring one's sexuality is not sinful. And yes, it can become addictive, though that possibility does not make the action inherently bad.

  • @harvestsoulfly right on! i think that's what mark *should* have said onstage

  • How many people masturbated after watching?

  • Masterbation is sin because Jesus would hide his face from me if I materbate. I cannot masterbate in His holy holy holy presence.

  • @Jfuyana That is the most laughable 'proof' for God I have ever seen. Guess what? Every religion says somewhere, in some way that people are going to deny it. Does that make every religion true? C'mon, use your brain.

  • Just put the word Reverend or Pastor in front of someone's name and in America that person can get away with any crime. Why should these poisonous individuals get away with telling lies to people for a living. Religion is a sex hijacker, religion and the wraiths who run it, try to make us shameful for having a private sex life. Sex is a natural act done by consenting adults whatever their orientation and no one has the right to judge or interfere.

  • if god existed he would speak for himself. End of the debate.

  • @marcohorowitz8

He already had end of the debate. Wow ignorance is bliss :P, you not dumb just blind.

  • "And without any notification or preperation, live, on the spot, FROM MY GUT, for better or for worse, I answer the question, honest, real, live, raw content, MADE UP ON THE SPOT."

Doesn't this make you a little uneasy? I find this way of preaching not a bad idea, but it is impractical. Your answer needs to be from God. If you don't know how to answer the question, you yourself aren't sure, do you give an answer anyways? This isn't the smartest thing to get into. Sorry I disapprove.

  • I don't think this guy gets it. You don't have to think about another person to masturbate, you don't have to watch porn either.

  • @TellingItLikeItIsSJM What can you think of then?

Masturbation is a manifestation of lust! It's a desire of the flesh for self gratification (given your alone).

  • @myheadface You don't /have/ to think of anything other than 'hey that feels good'. You can, but you don't have to.

Masturbation is not synonymous with lust, many children do it before they even hit puberty, I doubt they were 'lusting' after anything. What's wrong with self gratification? It's stress relieving, a lot of people say it helps them concerning their confidence and body image, and regular masturbation can help reduce the risk of certain cancers in men AND women.

  • why does he have a skull on his t-shirt?

  • ok so married Christians is there a guidline for what God accepts.....positions I mean cmon

  • @SoCaLhauser Our guideline as believers in Christ is to love and respect each other. Anything is permissable in marital sex- as long as both partners are comfortable with it and are seeking the others greater good, ie acting in love.

  • Nathan2Rock, well said.

  • 2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrines. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from truth and turn aside myths. But YOU, keep your head in all situations, endure, do the work of an evangelist. discharge all duties of your ministry". God doesnt want men to masterbait he wants them to live above what wordly men do.

  • Never heard of this till now....Hahaha look how long all these comments are

  • if i cum in my wife's face? is that a sin?

  • @MrTroll652 glad to answer this, if you said the words "i do" then yes by all means do whatever, however if your wife agrees then yes you can man lol, if she says no leave it alone.

  • @JulioJLuna89 what about cumming inside her ass?

  • @MrTroll652 as i said by all means your married man lol if she says hell no then no dude lol

  • @JulioJLuna89 what if she is a sadomasochist and she is okay with me punching her in the face and slapping the shit out of her

  • @MrTroll652 your problem, i think your horrible.

  • @JulioJLuna89 i was just asking. im not saying i would do it. i just want to know christians' stance on this

  • By the way you are not "hip" , the style you are using is way too 90's and you appear like a total douchebag trying to appeal to kid's using outdated and cheesy appernce and music.

  • Sure

Ive had sex with 30 hookers(all female) and it costed me a pretty penny

    I masterbate daily lesbian porn

You sad that masterbating makes you a faggot

A guy like me who has fucked over 30 women, and masterbates over lesbian porn (i have over 100gigabytes of lesbian porn) im a fag?

  • Who the hell does this guy think he is?!?!? He tries to be hip and "real," and claims to know the word of God. Dude. You have NO idea what you're talking about. You're using your image to try to be more relevant to a younger crown, but really a shamefully pathetic.

  • Fucking tool. Take 1 part of genesis literally but totally dismiss the unbelievably fake flood and the cruelty behind it.... Learn to critical think asap.

  • Driscoll and his ilk are poison. Love without lust is bleak and meaningless. The Bible is an ethics and sex hijacker. If you read the Bible properly it is the most potent force for turning to atheism. We atheists believe in science, reason and secular law. God is a genocidal, infanticidal, homophobic, gynaephobic sadistic tyrant, who was created by men like Driscoll.

  • O sure, let's give people guilt trips just by touching themselves. This guy needs to spend time on the real sins, the sins that hurt people. this is sick!

  • @hank309 No sin is greater than another

  • @jdlindsey11 So working on a Sunday is equal to murder? LOL. Failure.

  • @tfortommyb The Sabbath is actually Saturday, not Sunday.

As far as the law is concerned (i.e. the Ten Commandments) there can be no way working on Sunday is a sin. The Law was fulfilled by Jesus, and we are free from needing to fulfill the law and make animal sacrifices to atone for our inability to keep the Law.

However, it seems to me that the real issue is found in the heart of the purpose of the sabbath.

It was intended to be a time of rest, reflection, and many other purposes.

  • @tfortommyb Today I would think that the sin lies in being so busy that you have no time for your relationship with God. also I would say that you are sinning against your body (physically speaking) by being a work-a-holic by denying it the rest and play time that it needs to function in the way that God has intneded it to.

  • Only God knows the truth. Men lie, women lie, numbers get manipulated, only God is honest. Pray and don't worry about youtube users ask Jesus. Blink everyone has crosses to bear. It's obvious to say God doesn't tolerate filth. People we are in End Times whatever you do never take the mark. Masturbation for men probably a sin but if you repent afterwords and don't take the mark I pray God continues with His grace. We are all in this together and that's what keeps me going despite sin.

  • Genesis 38:9-10 KJV

Read this insert from Gen 38:9-10 KJV And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also. Immediately when I read this a while back and disected it, it became aparent to me that his actions represents masturbation. The act of indulging in sexual pleasure to which it

  • It would be diff if lets say..I always said no and never wanted to do it...but its not even like that..i practically have to throw myself at him naked to get the point across?? In a way..it kinda feels like cheating..I know hes not actually cheating but I feel like its crossing a line. I'm so upset I dont even know how to explain it, and its like he doesnt get it..he has no clue..almost as if he thinks i'm crazy for being upset about this.

  • ok...so if I find out that my husband has masturbated at work, but he says he doesnt do it out of lust, then how is he doing it? I dont understand how a man can masturbate without lust and I think he just said theres no lust involved so I wouldnt be more upset..but truthfully...im very upset about this. I was married 1 time before and was cheated on numerous times so my confidence level isnt very high as it is, and I cant understand why he would do this at work instead of sex after work?

  • @dvd11blue "...I dont understand how a man can masturbate without lust and I think he just said theres no lust involved so I wouldnt be more upset."

Yes men can masturbate to simply get relief. It's not that something or someone turned them on. It might just be a surge of hormones that get his equipment going. I've experienced this in my youth and it was during the work hours. It might also be that pheromones from other people at his workplace might be acting on his body. But read up on that.

  • B( . )( . )BS!

  • @TheMrgoku1985 no dumb ass because its your wife according to the bible its the only woman youre entitled to feel that way about

  • @anonymousQ45

    8=======Dick

  • @TheMrgoku1985 dont get mad

  • Can one lust after their own spouse? Say your spouse is away on business or what have you, if one masturbates with the image of what is legitimately "theirs" is it really lust? I know it is a legalistic question and in the end it matters very little but I do like to know the thoughts of others...

  • @nicodemous52 It depends if you define "lust" as merely "sexual attraction" or "sinful sexual feelings".

  • @nicodemous52 If the focus is your wife I don't see a problem. If it's getting a sexual fix apart from her, I would ask her first.

  • What if you were forced into an arranged marriage with your first cousin, that you did not want to marry, did not fall in love with nor in love now, six years later and two children. If I turn down this marriage it would shame my father? And Have a wife that does not like to make love, kinda cold? But I Love my Children!

  • I disagree. Sexual pleasure was created by God in marriage. Anywhere outside of marriage is wrong and if you think you can masturbate outside of marriage without lust you're just kidding yourself.

  • what does he mean at the end its a conscience issue

  • What about that guy that dumped semen on the ground in OLD T. He was like killed by God.

  • if we as married Christians do not know rght from wrong in the bedroom...we are in trouble. When we need a preacher to spell it out...

  • Didn't mean to offend you...i do not understand why any preacher feels the need to mention parts of the anatomy....uses a scripture for masturbation as a joke....which i thought was wrong. I don't understand the need for such detail. I am not a child...this is why i don't need a preacher to explain sex in detail. Maybe you needed this...it is not my business...but i think as married Christians we all know what is right and what is wrong.

  • The point of this sermon is to explain difficult questions in a church setting very upfront and out in the open so people can understand and deal with these issues in life and not just sweep it under the rug or leave it for people to interpret in an unbiblical way. This is BIBLICAL! I'm sorry, but if your too childish to handle simple truths of nature thoroughly and frankly explained in a biblical way then go watch a Joel Osteen video... I'll stick with Pastor Mark and sound doctrine thanks

  • (KJV)2 Timothy 4:3

    For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

(If you watch his teaching on the theology of suffering...you would think he would say to abstain and suffer. Wow...no wonder this, "Church" is growing so rapidly. I think this message would, "please" people. ( The lust is in the mind...which brings about masterbation. But...anything is ok if it isn't mentioned in the bible? )

  • @carkim521 Did you not listen to anything Pastor Mark was saying?? lol wow.. There is nothing in the bible that says masturbation is a sin, so it's not.. HOWEVER you CANNOT masturbate without lusting and since lust is a sin, then masturbation is impossible to do without sinning, unless it is used in the context of marriage, the point of the sermon? MASTURBATION IS NOT OK! lol try listening to the message first instead of just picking out only what you want the hear Mr. Jacobis Arminius lol

  • Wow, I never thought this day would come, but I actually agree with Mark Driscoll.

  • Absolute garbage. You will see in the not so distant future the works of the flesh being made known in this man's life. Repent or get out of the pulpit .

  • @utubeguy09 you have not made a argument just made a statement, please explain using the whole Bible not just one verse, and pertaining to this video what did he say that was wrong that didn't line up with the Bible.

  • Good Answer!!! Biblically-based!

  • this is a good man! that finally answers questions this generation needs answered. i completely agree with him. Purity starts in the Heart. if my heart isnt pure but wooh i'm not doing it then this sort of "purity" is not acceptable in front of the almighty God.

  • I cannot believe that the pulpit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, that should be used to train and equip fellow brothers and sisters in CHRIST"S mercy, teachings, and commands, is being used to mull over what is acceptable sex acts for the married and unmarried. Please show me in the Bible where that was ever the point or intended subject. I am not saying the questions aren't legitimate, however, I highly disagree with the setting. I was not lead to Christ thorugh a sermon on sex acts.

  • @andrewpoppy1 These are important issues that need to be addressed. I don't think he intends to win people to Christ over talking about sex. Sex is an important part of a Christian marriage, and it's not something he advocates outside of marriage.

  • He didn't really answer the question, at least not directly. Also, it annoys me when people say the Bible doesn't say anything about masturbation. Read Genesis 38:9. "Onan ('Onani' is the Norwegian word for masturbation...wonder where they got that word from?) knew that the seed wouldn't be his; and it happend, when he went in to his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest he should give seed to his brother". I'd say that's a pretty overt reference to masturbation!

  • @andyDZ you would equate masturbation with pulling out during intercourse prior to ejaculation?

  • @ZepShepley How do you know he pulled out early? It only says that he spilled his seed on the ground and the fact that he's named Onan (as I mentioned earlier, 'Onani' means masturbation in Norwegian, so I'd say that's a pretty clear indicator that he was masturbating, not pulling out early) makes it pretty clear. Just sayin'.

  • @andyDZ "But Onan was not willing to have a child who would not be his own heir. So whenever he had intercourse with his brother's wife, he spilled the semen on the ground. This prevented her from having a child who would belong to his brother." How you can not understand what is happening here?

  • @ZepShepley Yeah, I guess when you read it from that translation, it makes sense! I guess I'm just really hung up on the fact that he's named Onan :-P

  • TheCoCa27, what you said brings up the idea that things like this should not be talked about in the church, just like how many feel there is no reason to bring up demons and speak of possession in church... it's a real thing and if people are wondering about it, i think it is totally fine to talk about it

  • The emergent church is obscene. It leads non believers who attend these services to.believe all christians speak with such krassness and vulgarity. I see this guy and feel that he has been lead astray by the devil to make non believers believe that it dosent really matter if you believe in God, or follow what he teaches, because its all good anyways

  • only his lunatic opinion, it will never catch on.

  • I think pastor mark missed the point about masturbation. Flying solo was not intended which is one of the reasons God made woman....bible didnt mention cause we should have known that masturbation...solomon said that if you find a wife you find a good thing..

  • @killforce787878 right but he did put that out there. he said that if you're doing it with a wife/husband as a way of oneness, it is not a sin, but as a way to please your mate. if you're flying solo, you're not promoting oneness, you probably are being lustful (which is sin) and that should be stopped. i see no reason to think it to be a sin if a wife wants to be generous and masturbate her husband as a gift to him.

  • your body doesn't create more semen when you masturbate a lot. that's bull. I won't argue that masturbating a lot can create a mental addiction, but it's all in your head.

  • I think people need to get real. The Bible isn't a book to be hidden by all its answers. There's a reason why God put the Song of Solomon in the Bible; to explain the great love between a man and a women. The Song of Solomon is a very explicit book. It includes almost every answer to sex. It describes the beauty of a women's and Solomon playing with her. These are many questions about sex and it needs to be brought into the light. Not hidden. I am for Mark saying this to ppeople.

  • Why would Mastrabation have anything to do with religon? If your un-involved on any kind of relationship but have sexuall urges and no outlet the solution is not to suppress or to fuel them exsessevly. Mastrabation in moderation is completley natural and is presented to growing young adults because of anatomy not a higher power. Its science, when you begin to go through puberty your body produces more endorfens which often result in sexuall feelings. To cooporate with your body ,so to speak, ma

  • This is WAY out of line, you cant say as a man of faith your going to let some man talk sexually explicit around your wife kids or you! This is not biblical this should not be in church, the bible has gudelines, if a couple is having problems, they need to talk to their pastor in PRIVATE, also theres kids in that crowd. If i have kids someday my pastor wont be telling them about sex, I will when the time is right.

  • @GeneVarsity It's a relevant issue that needs addressing with so much misinformation and unbiblical opinions out there. He is using the Bible and scripture (which talks about SEX!) and the crowd there is relatively young and un-Godly if you knew anything about the church and its environment. Don't embrace your religious, legalistic ideals to be Biblical truth.

  • @GeneVarsity You might tell your kids about sex, but a lot of parents don't.

  • @GeneVarsity This is evening service and ther are no kids there. Also, God invented sex, so it must be addressed in the church. I don't agree with Driscoll's conclusions, but this is a teaching session and many people need to hear the truth. With 5000 members, let's say 100 have sexual issues: should they each individually go see the Pastor? For specific issues maybe, but he can teach the principles publicly, I think...

  • Yes, so feel guilty about natural feelings of lust because if you naturally have sexual urges you need to repress them. Oh please.

  • I agree with you movinbutnotshakin despite all scripture is God breathed therefore written by God. So the early did know about it. But too much of anything is sin..

  • "The bible doesn't say masturbation is a sin." The bible doesn't say pedophilia is a sin either. Furthermore, sex is a physiological need, like food. "If you masturbate, you'll want to masturbate more and more, and you'll be mastered by your masturbation." Yes, any kind of stimulation can be addicting, includin
