That's a pretty interesting version.

There is an interview with Nile Rodgers who laughs as he recalls the first time Bowie showed him that song saying that it sounded like some kind of country song or something and he thought Bowie was joking.

I wonder if the way Bowie plays the intro here is the original way he envisioned it when he showed it to Nile Rodgers who then changed it because he said you can't have a song called "lets dance" and it not be danceable. lol

Well Jackson had more songs that were well know i guess. But Bowie's song, sorry MJ fans, are more structured, more thought about and really say something instead of going on the dancefloor. Both great in their own ways. But Bowie will be remembered as a mythological, inventive rocklegend, not a popgod.
