  • Hey bro , looking to invest in my first "real" gibson, I've been playing electric nearly 13 years, the traditional is such a beautiful and nice sounding instrument.. I was wondering where you purchase your's from? .. I'm here in Canada.. So I can't easily drive out where need be, Purchasing online would be my only bet , The left handed version of the traditional is around $2300..

  • @MATTIEBOYY88 Talk to Brett at Eddie's Guitars (314) 781-7500. He will give a great deal.. That is where I bought my R8.. I bet you can get it for about $1,850.

  • @Earnhardt12345 Ah thanks dude , would I just mention I was talking with you ? .. he ships to Canada?

  • @MATTIEBOYY88 Yeah, mention that I told you about him.. (My name is John) and I had bought the R8 Lemonburst back in Feb 2011. I'm pretty sure they ship to Canada..

  • @Earnhardt12345 Thanks John , much appreciated.

  • You gonna make love to it now?

  • whats the difference with a normal traditional and a traditional plus? i heard is was the finish on them but they both pretty much look the same between them?

  • @guitarzan96 The Traditional Plus is usually referred to as just a Traditional. The Traditional Pro is the other plain top and thin neck from Guitar Center... The Plus refers to the top being figured.

  • Hey just wanna know if i can use any string gauge for les paul?

Will it damage the neck or anyth??

  • Thanks Earnhardt12345, I got some good info about this guitar here. I was looking at getting the Traditional Plus after seeing it on musicians friend , and called Dave's Guitar Shop in WI to see if they had any... they said this guitar was a Guitar Center exclusive, what gives? I like a slim neck, but I don't like the look of the pro, mostly because finish options and the pickups don't have chrome covers. I have to say, I love the neck on my 2003 Epi Les Paul Standard.

  • @dtimm612 The Pro is a Guitar Center exclusive, but but not the Plus. You can get the plus and any major store. Sweetwater is a pretty good online source, but you would not be able to play it first. Check out my new video of my replacement guitar for this one. My guitar started to crack on the body and Gibson replaced it with an even better traditional plus.

  • Just got mine yesterday. All I can say is "sweetness"

  • @drwrevoltar Nice! I just sent mine back to Gibson due to a crack in the body.

  • Dude when you change your string guage, do u haav to re set up your guit? thanks.

  • @ismailbinumar Yes I did.. It started to buzz a little from sitting deeper in the nut.

  • hijos de puta TIO que chiron esa guitarra ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • That's beautiful. Where did you get it and what's the difference between this one and the regular traditional or traditional pro?

  • @FanHalen5150 Thanks... I bought it at Best Buy.. There are a few differences between the two. The regular traditional has a 50's neck (thicker), Classic 57 & 57+Pickups, and a grade AA Maple top. The pro has a 60's slim neck, Classic 57 and Burstbucker Pickups with coil tapping, and a grade A Maple top.

  • @Earnhardt12345 Best Buy? Really? In Canada, you can't find guitars of that caliber at Best Buy. So, the plus is closer to the regular traditional, but with a glossy figured maple top?

  • @Earnhardt12345 lol wtf since when did best buy sell gibsons?!

  • @roydenb123 Best Buy has certain stores that sell music instruments. They sell Marshalls too..

  • @FanHalen5150 the traditional plus has 57classics they usally are flamed top and have kluson tuners a traditional pro has burstbucker pros (wich arent even close burstbuckers) its some kind of metal tuners (not Grovers) it has a different kin of paint and they are usally plain top. there is no such thing a les paul traditional (without pro or plus the end of the name)

  • @mrflip321go So, the plus is the one to get?

  • @FanHalen5150 The neck is thicker (50s style) on the Plus vs the Pro as well. If you do not like a thick neck, you would not like my guitar.

  • @Earnhardt12345 I could do with either.

  • @FanHalen5150 I almost bought the Pro.. Still wonder if I made the right choice.

  • @Earnhardt12345 If you bought the "Plus", you deffinetly made the right choice. The chrome locking tuners make the pro look a bit cheap, and are really unnecessary since the tuners on the plus work just great and have that intage vibe. The Pro has carved out chambers al over the place stealing away from the depth of sound you get from an actual solid guitar like the Plus which only has four smal drill screw holes to relieve some of the weight. and the '57 classic pick ups have real vintage fire.

  • Wrong Information to mindaflame7...

Both Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro or Plus are NOT chambered body!

Both models weight between 8lbs-10lbs. The Gibson Les Paul Standard 2010 models are chambered model.

  • @greensoundroom Exactly.. My Traditional weighs 9.8 lbs.

  • @mindaflame7 I heard it was 9 holes. Please tell me you are right.LOL I don't want any weight relief. But to get a non weight relieved LP you gotta spend much more coin. You gotta go 58 or 59 reissue. It's funny I heard of a few non weight relieved LP's that weigh just over 8 LBS. My LP Trad weighs in at 9. 2 LBS. It's a 08' and she rocks the house. The police know me by name. LOL

  • @LesterPaul01 Yes there is 9 holes.. My Trad with 9 holes weighs about 9lb 8oz.. My R8 (58) weights 8lbs 9oz.. Better wood, less dense.. Search google for "weigh relieved les paul" and you will see pictures of how the traditional is weight relieved.

  • @Earnhardt12345 Thanks for the info. I've played a couple of real early 70's pauls at guitar ctr. and they were tanks. So what you are saying is the next best thing to the real deal is a 58 or 59 reissue. Why is the 59' a lot more coin than the 58' ?? Rock on.

  • @LesterPaul01 The top is figured much more than the 58.. And its a 59.. I don't think it is worth another $2K.. Hell, my R8 sells for $3,700 and that is too much..

  • @mrflip321go There were some places where they advertised with they called it a "Traditional Plus" vs the "Pro" (Guitar Center). Officially, it is the Traditional (with a plus top) and the Traditional Pro with the plain top. The gibson box my guitar shipped in came in says "Traditional Plus" on it.

  • I wish Gibson wouldn't put those cheesy pick guards on there. Does anyone strum so violently that they need to guard their picking?

  • What are you talking about? The pickguards are half of the awesomeness of the guitar!

  • The pickguards on Les Paul look

ridiculous. I'm removing mine when I

    get my Honey burst.

  • i'm gonna marry that guitar someday

    ~ nice demo, brilliant

  • dude that guitar comes with real pearl on the inlays????

  • @blackmetalcreed No, they are acrylic...

  • men the guitar comes with the case or not plz tell me I am going to buy but I am from an other country so i need to know if I need to buy a case!!

  • @blackmetalcreed Yes, it comes with a case...

  • does this have coil tapping?

  • @gibsonlpplaya123 No, I think the Traditional Pro has different pickup and coil tapping.

  • what a perfect maple flame wood grain, my dream guitar is that in a cherry sunburst or a R9 and i might just get a trad. in the coming months if i save enough

  • Ok! I forgot about this, her back is like my studio but if you take her outside she really shines through!

  • I was right! They got me a guitar. But it was a Gibson SG Standard (or as known as the Angus Young guitar) But I still like it!

  • good for u men u got a nice guitar an sg is a good guitar, not as good as a Les Paul but still a good guitar

  • I need your opinion. Do you my parents got me a guitar? Because I asked them for that exact guitar but Mom just said "Dad's got your present in the trunk of his car." Do think they that Les Paul guitar????!!!!

  • @NamedBen Your guess us as good as mine. If it is, he better not keep in the trunk!! Good luck!

  • dude...makes me miss my LP so bad...i'm deployed right now..i got the exact guitar but in the iced tea burst..i wish i got the desert burst...looks a lot more rugged and mean. all i have is my fender squier with me...didnt want to risk bringing my gibson LP to the desert to get trashed XD

  • I was almost going to get the Iced tea.. Hope everything works out good with your deployment and return to the US safely.

  • thanks man, i appreciate it.

Beautiful guitar, i'm very curious of the comparison between this one and the Epiphone (but i think it doesn't give a big winner though, for Epiphone uses the same equipment, but only less treated wood)
