Thank you, yea i think it was a natural death. Out of all the canaries i've had, Franco always used to get out of breath very quickly when he flew and my other birds are always fine, so maybe he had breathing problems!

Thanks mate, i guess there so tame because i used to get them out of the cage almost every day and once Freddy started seeing Franco sitting on my finger she probably wanted to do the same. I got the female another male friend aswell.

Yea she is the one riding on the back of the cockatiel, i think she might of been scared from the water so i just placed her on the back of the cockatiel & suprsingly it didn't mind walking around with a canary on its back lol!

My male canary was already hand tamed and one day i got freddy out the cage and sat her next to franco, i thought she would fly away within a few seconds but she sat next to him on my finger for quite a long time, that might be how she learnt not to fly away!

I think this video is very touching. Your little female is grieving and I can't see why some people think it's not appropriate or even cruel to have the female next to the corpse of her male friend. We humans have been doing the exact same thing for centuries! My own canary died in April 2007, after over 7 years with us. I bought a new one in October 2007, but call me crazy I still have my first bird in the freezer! I want to bury the poor thing in my garden this Spring!
