  • If you really want to skip 90% of the chit chat skip to about 8:00. only the last 0:52 is actually anything help full.

Sorry Gegecrochet I didn't go looking for 8 min's of chatting when I just want to see how to do something.

  • how to you stitch the squares together?

  • Hi there, I really like how your blanket came out. I thinking about making a Super Mario Bros blanket myself. I already doing this my own way though. Write now im getting the graphs together for the first 6 panels im going to do.

  • i did a few 8-bit blocks myself but somehow they don't look proportionate. ended up looking 'taller' than they are wide. did you block you work before putting it together? if i stretch them out to look even like this i guess i can pass it off as super awesome. kind'a disappointing honestly(i used simple/basic stitch).

  • too much chit chat... u made this annoying to watch!

  • where do you get those graphs? Thanks for you tutorials...

  • That's all great, but how are you suppose to do the second pass?

  • @JohnnyElsewhereTV Ummm.....you watch part 2. ;)

  • @GegeCrochet Whoop. I apologize. Bad eyesight. ^_^;; Sorry about that.

  • im off to make my mario grow shroom beanie thanks you miss.

  • @SillyGlowstick Sweet! would love to see the finished object. :)

  • Will you please please please do a tutorial on how to read graphs for these graph things????

  • I'm so glad you posted this...I'm going to watch vid #2 before I start my "butterfly"...I'll let you know how it goes!!!

  • not a million thanks, A BILLION THANKS! love ur videos. theres a few other videos ive seen that does teach the color changing the same way but ur much clearer and we can actually see what ur doing. i wasnt sure if i was doing it right but with how clear u were with changing the colors, now im really sure im doing it right. thank u so very much again! appreciate u. stay blessed.

  • @xxgadixiegirlxx You are welcome a TRILLION times! :) I'm very glad my video helped you!

  • and how do you make diagonal lines of color changes?

  • @jazzybell13 hmmm....not quite sure I understand what you mean....do you have an example?

  • I'm just learning tunisian, and now I'm working on reading patterns. How do you convert the squares/pixels in a pattern picture to stitches in the blanket?

  • @jazzybell13 It's very easy- thanks to the square nature of a tunisian stitch, each pixel equals a stitch! You can enlarge the picture if you want by squaring the stitches...instead of 1 stitch per pixel, do a total of 4 stitches over 2 rows....or 9 stitches over 3 rows...until it's the size you want.

  • i'm just getting back into crochet. i haven't done it since i was a kid, but i have always been fascinated by the afghan stitch. thank you for this tutorial. can you do one on the actual graphing process?

  • @luvak8 You're welcome! I've done a blog post on graphing one of my projects....for some reason, I can't link to the actual page, but if you go to my blog: gegecrochet.blogspot.com and look for Anatomy of a Design in August 2010, you'll see my process. Perhaps I'll do a future video on it....hmmm.....

  • Do you do the same in single crochet for changing colors

  • @baby26girl Actually, single crochet and Tunisian crochet are two very different mediums. Color changing with single crochet doesn't make as crisp of a picture, in my opinion. Although, there are some really awesome works using single crochet- you may want to look up Tapestry Crochet for this technique.

  • can you at least tell us how many stitches you used for the cushion square, I think I can get the rest from there. I would like to make a small 16 x16 pillow

  • @marlib7 oooh....16x16 would be very small....like doll sized. I think my pillow was around 64 stitches square....I need to count them now....

  • Thanks this helps!!!

  • @droscom You are so very welcome. :)

  • This is very helpful! Thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out how to change colors without the holes. I love the Mario Obsession blanket!

  • I can't tell you how much inspiration this gives me! Ahhhh, I'm TOTALLY to make a Nintendo tribute blanket now

  • @grithic Sweet! I'm glad my work inspired you!

  • So glad you added this video! I love the mario blanket you did and am looking forward to seeing more of your video tutorials!

Do you have a video on creating a pattern? I am interested in doing a themed blanket, but would like for it to be rather large, with one VERY large symbol in the middle. Any ideas or is this even possible?

Does it have to be worked in smaller, more manageable blocks then seamed together?

I'm new to crochet, but I have completed several afghan projects.

    Thanks!

  • @SiriusScientist Wow- I'm a terrible youtuber....I'm sorry for the extreme delay in answering your questions! I'm glad you liked my videos. :) I don't have a video on creating a pattern, but I've done a blog post on my design process for one of my projects. You can find it on my blog under "Anatomy of a Design."

If it's a huge project, it'd probably be best to break it down and sew together, otherwise you'll have too many ends to tangle you up...
