Hey there. I have Pinnacle Studio 15 The ultimate collection and I’ve been trying to get this clone effect to work. I only have one video track. Is that a limitation that I have with 15 or am I just not enabling it somehow?

@joband66 You have to enable the overlay (2nd video) track. Add a video to the first track. Then drag a second video underneath it and the overlay track will appear and allow you to place the video there.

hey! i tried making this effect on the pinnacle 14, i followed every step just like the way you did in this video, affer cropping and scaling when i close down the Picture In Picture window and i try playing back the video, it doesn't give me an image, all i hear is the sound, but can't see the actual video, it shows a big exclamation mark, can you tell me why is this happening.. thanks..

@DirtyDel704 Make sure that you didn't move the source files from their original location or rename the folders. When you import a video into Pinnacle studio and put it on the timeline, it is being mapped back to where it resides on the hard drive. If you change the name of the source file, change the name of its folder, convert the video file, or completely move it to a different folder/directory then it will have the excamation point.

has anyone ran into the problem where when you click make movie Pinnacle crashes every time? if so, do you know of a fix?

@MaticTv It may mean that your computer doesn't have enough RAM or a fast enough processor. Have you looked at the system requirements on the package or manual and checked them against your system? I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9270t with 8 GB memory, a Core-i7-870 processor and a 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3G hard drive. I have Adobe Premiere Elements 8, Pinnacle Studio 14, and Camstudio on this computer and they never crashe ( though it does slow down performancw when I run two of them at once).

I would have to see the clip of the show and the effect to make sure I show you the correct way to do it. I would hate to do a tutorial on what I think you want or explain what I think you mean and have it be the wrong thing. Whatever it is, if Pinnacle can do it I'll be able to do it.

Quick Question. Is there any way to make the clones pass through eachother? I'm not sure if you ever saw the george lopez episode where he asks angie to renew their vowes and he steps outside his body and slaps him.

Studio HD should be able to do this effect sice it is done with PIP. The features that are only in Ultimate and Ultimate Collection include keyframable effects, Blu-ray authoring with motion menus, Dolby 5.1 audio, plus a few plug-ins. Ultimate Collection adds green-screen backdrops as well as some additional plug-ins.

The crop and scale effects are basic effects for Pibbacle and you should be able to do this effect with the regular software package.
