litta57 the wiers are just extra pickups. pricetveyron for first gen to get 100% power pickup use balb grease fron local auto store on all contact points after the wheels even inside i been running for two years with no problem and there out side in all kids of weathere. and just a little extra info i have my 4-6-0 filled with led makeing it a womping 5 lb loco now i had heat issues so i added a prosser fan to the loco stays cool and runs great no problems. im now pulling 65 cars up grades of 3%
hi curious i lost front truck on royal blue Gscale , replaced it with regular truck w no wires. What did the wires do that are on the front truck (black and red wires) any help thnx
@litta57 As far as I can tell they were just extra power pickups for the whole motor+lights circuit. When my front wires were cut I noticed it would lose power very often and just stop running completely until poked. If they are cut but you are not noticing any power problems, you can probably manage without fixing them. Search "Big Hauler Tips" on google, the first result will be a page explaining all about the circuitry and fixes for them.
1. It manages to get around my small layout just a couple times without cutting out, but it absolutely does lose power often. Its performance in this video definitely doesn't represent how it runs normally. Messing with the front truck wires (make sure they aren't cut) may provide a temporary fix.
2. I haven't modified anything in this engine at the time the video was taken, so perhaps the carpeted room and camera quality might have something to do with it.
i dont know what max is havent hit it yet

Got a couple of questions: #1): How do you get that great power pickup on a first gen Big Hauler, and #2): How do you keep the sound down?
