  • Hi! It is interesting equipment. Anyways, would you tell me about the diameter of the front wheel ? and also the diameter of roller? Thanks in advance :)

  • @kruysothea hi Kruysothea, I will need to check the front drive wheel. the roller, do you mean the seed roller, if so they vary from 2.5 - 13.5 mm diameter.

  • @ShnitzlHaus YES, I mean the seed roller. diameter and the thickness of it. Anyways, thanks so much for ur reply :)

  • @ShnitzlHaus 2.5 cm to 13.5cm? It is the size of seed or the diameter of seed roller?

  • @ShnitzlHaus Hi shinitzlHaus, thanks so much. Could you tell me the seed roll diameter? not the diameter of the seed. and the front wheel diameter.

  • Great video and clear presentation.

Would is be suitable for very small seeds, such as carrots? If not is there one on the market that is

  • @AdrianWoodward71 hi Adrian. thank you for your kind comment

yes! this planter will do small seeds, everything in our garden is done with this planter and we have carrots.

Jang has a wide selection of seed rollers to accommodate anything being planted. hope this helped.

  • Good video - might need to do another one where you do it all right though! lol :) I'm on the westcoast, (you're in TO) and wondered where you got your Jang from... I want one, and now specially after trying out an Earthway, and a red one that I can't remember the name of. I have a big garden, and sell some of my produce, and am tired of wasting seeds, and thinning is totally my fave thing to do in the summer... NOT! lol Thanks for your videos - they're great!

  • The Earthway is only an $90 planter. The Jang is $375. Not really a fair comparison, but even still the Earthway is a very effective seeder.

With respect to row spacing, do you really want to change the sprockets (in the Jang) every time you switch to different seeds, or wouldn't it be easier to just change a single plate (in the Earthway)?

Also, the brush on the Jang is to sweep extra seeds out of the slots. You were turning it in the wrong direction in the video.

  • @Ch4grin the earthway does what it was intended to do, and affordable to the home gardener, just showing a different seeder as I had both at the time.

actually its easier then you think to change sprockets, the time difference is very minimal for a more accurate spacing and seed drop/count then the earthway.

lol yes, hope no one would catch that! and at the end I had actually put the seed drum on backwards, all need to learn somehow hehe.

    thanks for the comment :)
