This is actually the first recorded Shaolin tour of America. The tour is called the "Wheel of Life" It's true there's lots of fakes, but this one's actually real. Monks indeed go outside on the streets and preform as well as a part of their training routine.

The Shaolin temple today is 10% the quality of what it used to be, and shaolin Kung Fu has turned into performing acrobatic stunts and long artistic forms instead of a fighting art. The 'Disciples' are to hold high rank whom are real monks and the 'Fighting monks' who's are monk only by name has very limitted knowledge of its religion. What China has now is the 'Fighting Monk' at most. Don't let mainland Chinese lie to us.

have you read "American Shaolin" its the story of a student who dropped out and went to live at the Shaolin Temple for two years. he exvplains the different stuff in the book

The shaoplin temple has changed alot since the first show after the government intervined. It's mainly a tourist attraction although there are monks that still live and train there. Where there used to be hundreds of monks training there 10 years ago there are only say 50 or so now. Anybody wishing to enter has to train in the schools near the temple and show great ability.

yea this clip is from the original wheel of life show. The original show contained all real shaolin monks watch the bonus dvd its not fake. The kungfu masters live show still contains some of the original monks but many of them study in schools around the temple. To enter the temple you have to show amazing ability.

I saw their latest show, "Legendary Masters of Kung-Fu" last night and they brought kids up on stage to learn some. The monks interacted with the audience and seemed to have fun doing it. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I don't think they're disrespecting the Shaolin Temple. It's not like they're doing "parodies" of it or anything. Ever thought that maybe they just want to show the world their skills and what the power of "mind over body" can do? Not to mention get younger kids interested in martial arts (but maybe not the more dangerous stunts).
