  • can you tell me the name of the songs please? thank you

  • can you tell me name of the songs please? thank you

  • LOL nerds using too much tax dollars

  • @TheControlledAnger Those "nerds" are the reason why you have Tvs, computers, cars, fans, aircons, ipods, instruments, and everything and anything that you own that is man made and been invented to make your life easier. Can you live without that shizz and stay at home like a caveman? Doubt it.

  • @TheControlledAnger lol except it is a private university that recieves no government funding, and the car was provided by audi. AND the nerds pay 50k a year to go to that school

  • No Robot our Autopilot will ever beat Walter Röhrl in an Audi S1 Quattro. He can drive circles around the Hightech Playstation on 4 wheels :)

  • in Soviet Russia car drives you

  • tomorrow we are runnig out of gasoline

  • This is some impressive engineering, but I'm not sure it's fair to call it "autonomous". Ultimately it's just following a predetermined GPS course, albeit in a very sophisticated fashion. Off-the-shelf autopilots do the same thing in planes and boats all the time, often for less than $2000.

  • @Theriomalstrom Yes yuor right, now try to do it by yourself, that is where the fun beggins

  • Awesome!

  • If humans don't drive a car on pikes peak etc anymore, you take the fun out if it. The combination of a good driver and a good car is what makes it happen, not a bunch of algorithms. Anyhow, very nice job :).

  • @jemoederdt very true, but that wasn't the reason for this development. it was used to be able to allow people who can't drive normally get around in a car that could drive for them. this was just a testing phase to show that the car can control itself at high speeds and react accordingly:D

  • @shinobi1203 Also very true, it's cool to see that this is possible. Very nice work!

  • @jemoederdt not really, I cannot wait for these cars, manual driving is just biggest waste of time

  • Never thought I'd ever see a car drift by itself.

  • @AudiABTr8 i guess it's just the beginning.

  • OMG this is awesome!!

  • alright, lets test it on a place a few more obstacles shall we? :P

  • @Pixelvore1 ..and people

  • Посмотрим, что у них получится...

  • That reminds me of Demolition Man or iRobot...Imagine other people get into the car system via wireless Internet or something like that. They easily could crash you together with your car or keep the doors closen and drive you somewhere. Of course it is a innovation but i don't like the idea. When I sit in my car I want to control it.

  • lol c++

  • @ShadowwwLFS it was java in the beginning, not cpp

  • @RRageous OH SHI-. Даже не взглянул на текст, просто подсветка синтаксиса идентична с той, которую я использую в MSVS 2010, поэтому и подумал. :}

  • Imagine what NASCAR would be then...

  • The video is so great!

  • imagine our future.....boring.

  • @teamEP789

Yeah if stanford wasn't so fucking gay this wouldn't happen. It's just a bunch of kids from stanford who don't have any skill to drive so they decide to do this.

  • @rustlerboi1052 you're right.. and compared to them, the fact is that you're just a kid in a very large "bunch" who doesn't have the skills to do this. so you and the people in this "bunch" that you belong just decide to drive those on yourselves. and you know that it always goes like this and at the very end they earn much better then you do :p hopefully i'll be able to do stuff better then this and thanks god i've got some quite decent driving skills :p

  • in a sense the car is still being driven by a pc not a human but if we don't drive cars what will the point be... let machines rule us?

  • good point ...seems like the i-robot days are fast approaching

  • oh god :P start killing ur toaster and fridge before they KILL YOU!

  • @mahmoud1995 not really, yea I love driving, but this is for like if you get tired, you can just set it to drive itself. On long road trips, it would be great. I personally don't get tired, because I love driving, but its still a cool future technology.

  • @deepen03 long road trips are perfect driving times, you can go fast and if you find driving boring than don't drive, slowly we are letting machines do all our work

  • That's Nice!

  • if you're too lazy to drive the car yourself then you shouldn't have one to begin with. the car is an extension of the drivers spirit.

  • if ur drunk THATS A GRATE IDEA

  • that sukks it takes away from the fun of actually driving a car and people are really lazy that they need a self driving car

  • agreed. don't worry it won't be happening anytime soon though.

  • mini-R8

    xD

  • just asking btw =D

  • not to seem like an ass but what uses can a driver less car provide? wont we always need people driving cause of safety reasons

  • it runs on Java code???

  • i love when the TTS does Audi logo :D

  • Truth be told, German cars ROCK! American cars, not so much. Preference: German, Japanese, the Rest of Europe (probably excluding France, their cars are shit! LOL), then America, then the rest of Asia.

  • yeh the renault megane rr is shit hey when it can lap the ring faster than most 100k sportscars but your right the rest are pretty crap except for the clio cup

  • wow how boring pssh who buys a car so it can drive itself i wana be hte one in the drivers seat calling the shots and why the TT its a sports car it will not sell

  • lol you clearly dont get what a technology leap it is let alone that its a one off concept...

  • good job VAIL....if that was Ford Automotive Innovation Lab, things would be different

  • Lawls at acronym. But I do love ford...

  • lol! :D +1!

  • @mrjost55 lol

  • What's this song called? =)

  • like the 1st one

  • this is cool and all, but it feels like blasphemy to racing... what's the point if it just becomes a programming challenge? don't we have enough computers on board already? I'd rather have nothing but an ECU, stereo, and maybe a nav system.

all because people can't drive and someone made it their responsibility to "protect" them, instead of more appropriate measures, tougher licensing, and better training.

I realize this is a race vehicle, but it's testing to put it in road cars...

  • i'm sure in the future normal cars won't be obsolete.

    just progress

  • Wow this is my dream. Stanford and Audi's. DREA. I just applied there (hope I get in!!!!!) and Audi's are my faves :)

  • good job Stanford

  • Epic win.

  • WIll it do this on the highway? What if it got our of range of the transmitter?

  • 0:37 the guy on the right whats up with his face?

  • 2:21 is nice(;

  • LOL JAVA

  • although self driving cars could be safer, that would take ALL the fun and joy out of driving. who wants that?!

  • me. im lazy

  • -_-

  • Rally without a pilot is just plain boring imo

  • whoever thumbed you down can eat shit... I canceled it out man, I completely agree, why do I want to watch and aspire to be... a programmer making a car run a computer programed course... let me get behind the wheel!

I dread the day when driver skill is unnecessary because of the amount of computers on board a new car... that's the day I buy up as many used cars that have none of that BS as I can, and keep them running till I die.

  • Amen to that bro

  • WOW 2:29 IS Aamaaaazinnnggg

  • thats awesome, one of the first cars to drive itself was featured on top gear with a bmw 330i

  • Cool
