  • LOL that is so funny.. you're the man Sandwich!

  • how do i get the effects all 3d and shit i only get a lil rectangle tht shows icons on wut im using

  • kookoon is a dumbass ...

  • ahahhahahahah noobs only noobs get mad at LINUX

  • linux is stupid.

people thinks they are cool cause they have linux and just show to friends how they can move the window with that stupid spring effect.

the computer is made for make life easier and not for using a terminal all day. stupid script kiddies.

once linux will be good as windows or mac, where will you go? scripting on ms-dos? lol

    windows rules!

  • That's why I use Linux rather than dealing with lag and errors every time I log on to windows. I find Linux to be the fastest, easiest, most stable system I have ever used.

Anyone who thinks Linux is exclusively about terminals needs to come out of the closet. You can't have springy windows without a GUI. Idiot.

  • This prooovess what i say

    lol nerds :D

  • Linux actually makes a lot of things easier and runs much faster then Windows. I use both Windows and Linux -- a side by side comparison shows that Linux is a lot less cpu/memory intensive. Linux also does not need virus protection as there are barely any threats to the Linux system. It is also great for programmers and developers to learn development and is great for web servers. Not to mention it looks really cool and the support for it nowadays has strengthened that many basic users...

  • (as long as they aren't stupid) can figure out how to do everything they want. Windows actually makes certain things harder to do because it wasn't geared towards more advanced users.

  • Linux is awesome. I just simply don't trust Windows for anything more than gaming anymore, and even then if a game is written in OpenGL I won't bother with Windows at all. Linux is stable, usable and highly customisable, and comes with twice the tools I need than Microsoft bothers hawking off their crap with.

  • yeah ur pc is probably really old if u say that :D :D :D

  • I actually have a small laptop running Ubuntu (may switch it to gentoo soon) and a 45nm quad core desktop running OpenSolaris and Vista ultimate. Compared to compiz, aero glass is very, very, very clunky and has no easy way to tweak it like compiz does. The MS software I have is quite dodgy compared to the FOSS alternatives. VisualStudio is very bloated and confusing compared to NetBeans, and Office 2007 doesn't hold a candle to OpenOffice in terms of simplicity

  • I was never trying to prove that this is better than Compiz/Fusion, i just merely wanted to show the that the cube and a expose like interface are possible under Vista.

I myself use Ubuntu with Beryl on my laptop as it runs a lot smoother than Windows XP on it, however running Ubuntu or any other linux distribution on my desktop really isn't a worthwhile option as I need regular access to Photoshop, also my Xfi soundcard isn't supported under Linux yet.

  • you can try knoppix, that'll probably support your soundcard.

  • nope, the only thing that will support my soundcard is OOS, which unless i buy a license for will only support 1 program at a time. Creative are apparently releasing drivers soon though.

  • Compiz has over 200 effects and millions of possible combinations. This has 3 effects and about a dozen combinations.

    The wow starts now.

  • it is not even 1% of the functionality of compiz.

compiz is more robust, more flexible, more...

it gives life to your screen

  • it's just half of Compiz Fuzion
