  • never seen this movie myself, but I find it ironic that all my army buddies say this movie is bullshit

  • This is one of the best freakin movies i've ever seen

  • O nome da primeira música é Let The Bodies Hit The Floor do System of a Down.

  • the song in 1:05 ?? pliiiiiiiiiiiiiiz

  • qual o nome da primeira musica q toca??

  • dude, just watching the trailer makes me wanna cry.

my bro and a few of my friends are in the army. :'[

  • this is a very good movie i love it it is like my favorvite movie now i dont think that i could be a amry wife cuz i would totally cry all the time but if i love my husband i guess i have to be one if i really love my husband and he has to go to the army do u think think that u could be a army wife or an army husband

  • I don't know. like i'd be so proud but at the same time I couldn't stand my husband being away for so long with the posibility of getting hurt.

  • i think everyone should watch this movie...

    fricken soldiers getting stop-loss!

  • It was a pretty good movie, but after like the first half an hour and until the last few minutes, I thought Brandon King was coming across as a total fucking selfish traitor!

  • what was the rap song in the begining and end of the movie??

  • makes my cousin look like psycho fuck this movie

  • What's the song that plays when the guy is walking in the rain? I havent seen this movie, but I hear that Maime Gummer is in it, and her mom Meryl Streep is my favorite actress.

  • hello

in the film "stop loss" when tommy sing i want know what is this song please?

sorry for my english i am french and my english is very bad i know

    thank you very much.

  • the song is:

courtesy of the red, white, and blue by toby keith

  • I watched this movie today and I thought it was really good. It shows a little bit of what the soldier's deal with. I doesn't matter whether you agree with the war or not you still should always respect the troops and support them because they are the one's risking their lives for us.

  • I agree...one of the best movies I've ever seen! Great character development! Best line of the whole movie: "With all do respect, sir, FUCK the president!"

  • this was one of the best movies i hav ever seen!!!

  • God Bless ALL the troops

  • We were waiting for this movie to come to our theatre, but when I called the manager, he said it didn't make the cut and he wasn't even able to get it! Does anyone else think the political powers of Hollywood had anything to do with this? The guy said we would be able to rent it probably in 6 or 8 weeks! I have read this was a really good movie. I can't wait to see it! God bless ALL the troops, active or not!

  • does anyone have a clip of this movie with steven strait's part?

he's supposed to be michael colson

  • Saw this movie earlier today. For the general public this is a good introduction to PTSD and its symptoms. It also explains stop-loss and shows the problems that stop-loss can have on the veteran & his family. If you're a combat vet there's nothing here that's new and Hollywood has screwed up a LOT of the details but it's still worth seeing anyway. It's not pro-war or anti-war, it's about the soldiers.

    aloha :) ray

  • I appreciate your opinion of the film. I don't think i've seen many films about the military that didn't screw up the details, but I'm glad this one does focus on the soldiers.

  • Sir i totally agree. I am really critical of movies and especially ones about the military and our country. I am a Marine Recruit and when they showed the Marine Corps' flag i was really taken back. The biggest problem i have with this is that its a fact that when you sign up, you sign so many thing (when i enlisted i swear i signed over 100times) that decide your life, one of them being the stop-loss that gives the government ability to extend your contract w/o your consent(they even say it)

  • i also do want to say that it gives great insight into PTSD which is a growing problem and needs to be dealt with

  • It opened here in Honolulu yesterday with absolutely no advertising at all ... just the small print in the movie schedule. Looks like this is a story that someone doesn't think the American people will want to see. I'm going with my wife tomorrow. aloha :) ray

  • My friend served in the Marines 1995-2001. In 2004, he had a quiet little celebration. That day ended the 3-year recall period very Marine gets. If he'd gotten a letter in that time, he'd have been annoyed, maybe upset, but not surprised.

  • Stop-Loss is different than inactive reserve. That is what your friend, and many soldiers, are aware of. They usually sign a 6 & 2 contract. 6 years active, and 2 inactive. Stop-Loss can extend you past any contract, or inactive reserve commitment.

  • Now THAT looks like a movie worth making.

  • Looks like a damn good movie!!! Very powerful

  • I am TOTALLY going! I heard about this stop-loss crap and there is a channel on youtube called stoploss where they talk about it. Kimberly Pierce is a bad ass director. This is SUCH an important issue, among a myriad of others, regarding how these troops are being treated. Thanks for helping to promote it.

  • I was not affected by Stop-Loss, so I can't truly say how I would have reacted. It is a great burden to be going and coming, the only difference being you might "luck out" and get sent to Afghanistan. Hollywood may spin this hard and they may not, but I'm willing to check it out.

  • Being a combat vet myself, I'm leary of the movies and tv shows about the current wars. From what I can tell from the trailers, the two characters have different opinions of their service. That may be why I'm interested in seeing the movie. It doesn't seem to be all Anti-War/Bush/Policy nor Pro-War/Bush/Policy.

  • Agreed. Thanks for the comment. My understanding it that the focus is on the soldiers and not the war.

  • Military service members contractually agree that their term of service may be involuntarily extended.

However I do feel that if this happens to somebody, they should get a handsome pay increase.

I'd gladly give up my $300 tax stimulus to pay for our service men and women to continue ONE more tour.

In fact I don't think any presidential candidate should receive ANY funding for their campaign, it should go to our troops.

  • I like the song:)

But,you guys know more about military or war than I do...I was not obligated to serve the army...they made this law just few years before my time:)I'm glad I didn't have to kill no one who did nothing to me...

  • who was the marketing genius who put bodies in the trailer

  • This will be the 100th antiwar movie in the past two years, jesus christ.

  • antiwar? I think you should read up on the Stop-Loss policy.

  • It is going to be an anti-war movie Allen. Don't try to fool yourself dude.

  • "i signed up thinking i was going over there to fight for my country...everything turned out so different than we thought,"

    i think that's pretty straightforward.

  • This is gonna be the movie of the year

  • Looks like a good film, I'm sure I'll watch it.

  • k, at first i was like "a trailer, on a11en's channel". then i read the comments. so good on you. but, people will still see it as just a movie, they will be compelled to do something for a couple days after seeing it and then it will be just a movie. nature of the beast i guess. my comments are negative today, i'm sick and grumpy. sorry.

  • They're not negative. They're honest. I would expect nothing less. I hope you feel better soon, my friend.

  • looks like a really great movie. I hope I'm not disappointed.

  • Nov will bring change in the USA

  • maybe.

  • I'm glad MTV is doing a war movie. I think Jarhead was over the younger people minds.

    P.S. Are you in it A11en? :)

  • Jarhead was hard to watch. Some of the scenes were chillingly accurate. To answer your question; no. I've been aware of, and following this project for a long time. I was ask to help promote it, and I felt it was warranted.

  • This is the first time I'm hearing of the movie and I'll keep an eye out for it and give you my opinion when I do.

  • Thanks man. I do appreciate it, and look forward to your opinion.

  • Paltoon was hard for me to watch the first time, and I can tell you, there was no 'Hollywood' in it. Hosesty is still the best policy.

  • I heard about this movie. You know my feelings on this subject. I have got to see this movie.

  • (((Joy)))

  • Back at ya

  • this just happened to a friend of mine in the CAF. sucks. i think this movie is also draft advertising. that sucks even more.

  • Hey Ariel. I don't think it's promoting the draft. I think it's bringing a little known issue to the forefront.

  • Hi Allan ... maybe you're right .. i read that wiki .. where it talks about stop loss as sort of a back-door draft and I have to see the movie before i can say for sure, but maybe it has a reverse psych. effect? I'll get back to ya!!! :P

  • Don't let any movie decide for you what your opinion should be on a subject because they (the makers of this movie or any movie) can stretch or break facts to suit their own goals, whatever their political leanings may be. Read for yourself the issues pertaining to a subject and make an educated opinion for yourself. NEVER let someone make your opinion for you.

  • mfleming98 ... lols you are right of course ... and you don't know me, obviously! I have a pretty critical eye ... always open to new ideas . including Allen's, Hollywood ... :P

  • wow, this looks pretty neat. Thanks for posting.

Thoughts on this ... hmmm. First of all, it´s an illegal war and it still has nothing to do with revenge for 9/11, finding Osama or protecting America. George W took personal revenge and lots of Americans had to die for his stupidity. Second the US are stuck there now, getting out would cause more problems than ever, though I wonder what the US cares about the Iraq, they didn´t care about moving in either. Finally - peace is best, for all.

  • WOw - sounds like a great story. Gives me an increased veneration for our guys over there right now! God give em all strength and courage! Thanks for the preview, sir!!

  • Thank you, for taking a look.

  • Okay my view, on the whole war is realy double sided, i've accumulated this body of knowledge over the well recent past and it really devides me on the whole war situation. Two sides are these:

    1. A war is absolutely horrible thing, which is completely indespicable when taken in action such as seen implemented by the US.

    BUT

    2. The US[and Canada] are both developed enough nations to go to war, it is a huge source of monetary support for the countries that can sustain to be in one.

  • war is a horrible thing. You won't find a soldier that says otherwise.

  • A11en, you are going to catch a t lot of flak for posting this movie. The worse thing about this US right now is that people will call this movie antißAmerican because it is not Nationalistic. Patriotism is loving ones country, Nationalism is loves ones country above anything else...human life, family and ones else. America is in a state of nationalism and if you are not with us, well then you are against us and should be drug out into the streets and beaten as a terrorist loving pinko commie.

  • Just a few weeks ago, I was called a neo-con. I don't think the people, that make those judgements, ever watch any of my other vids. Thanks for the feedback.

  • JP: You know I was OIF, so all I have to say, is it better be damn good. I think we deserve, at the very LEAST, a GOOD movie for once!

I'm sorry, I hate having to say,"Yeah, I fought in the war, there were a lot of issues, but all the movies about it kinda sucked." =(

BTW, my bro gave me a heads up that they're making a movie about Fallujah. Since he was there, he said the same thing. =D "Yeah, it was a crazy battle...the least they can do is make a GOOD movie out of it!"

  • The focus, of this one, is on the soldier and not the battles.

I think that's a good start. Thanks for contributing to the conversation, JP.

  • God bless our boys

  • Thanks Craig. You are one of the one's that "get it."

  • as always A11en, i appreciate the heads up.

i'll be sure to watch this with the hopes that more public awareness will bring about change.

  • Hope. It's hard to hang on to. I'm glad that some still do.

    be well Matt.

  • I hope this movie does some good, the ones before haven't really done much. Unfortchantly the media tells us the American public likes how John Wayne won the WWII without being in it, but hates it when Oliver Stone and others tell the true nature of war. Darn Allen I think more people aggree with you on this, but think What the hell can I do about it. Our Future President will be complaciant and do what the media says. Why Because the media tells them what we think without asking us first.

  • Unfortunately....

I agree on our next president, whoever it is.

  • thanks allen...i ignore most media now...commercials and such. so i may not have known.

  • A lot of people have turned away from mainstream media. I've read that some people get the majority of their news, and current events, from YT. We both know that there are quite a few veterans on YT, and even more people that care about them.

  • Don't miss seeing this movie. It's something you should know about.

  • agreed

  • Looks pretty good. Hats off to Paramount for having the guts to walk on the infected ground of the Iraq War issue.

  • I was actually surprised that this got the green light, from a major studio.

  • I'm not. Hollywood has gone so far left, they'll jump at every opportunity to bash conservatives either directly or indirectly

  • Thanks for posting this. I don't usually give commercial videos 5 stars but this is the exception.

It appears as though this is an important film. I hope it lives up to it's promise and is seen by many many Americans. Not just because of Iraq but because some president in the future may try again to sell the country on a war we don't need to fight. As a Vietnam vet I know about those wars. Everyone should.

aloha, ray (RVN helicopter pilot 1968-70)

  • Thanks Ray. I'm sure there will be some Bush bashing, on this one, but they don't understand the bi-partisan support of the stop-loss policy. I doubt this will be discussed, before November, by any of the candidates.

  • Wow.

I'm glad you posted this; my only concern is a DMCA strike against your channel.

I read your reply to Victor and I respect your conviction here, Allen.

  • After hearing the writer/director (Kimberly Peirce) speak about her motivations for the film, I doubt it. If they chose to stop a Veteran from promoting their film, I'd be highly surprised. With that said, if they do, they do. I believe the message is more important than YouTube.

  • I was browsing the suggested vids after this finished playing and I think you're right. There are several other uploads of this.

Sounds like Peirce is hip to something that Viacom ISN'T.

And *ditto* on "...more important than YouTube."

  • I guess even some people, that I have been friends with, don't get that. Thanks for the comments Curt.

  • Looks good. Has a good point in what is happening to people today, that people are unaware of

  • Far too many people are unaware.

  • I'm confused...why did you upload this?

  • To promote what I feel is an important film, that brings attention to an issue that most people are clueless about.

Both sides of the isle have quietly supported the Stop-Loss policy. I think it should be a campaign issue, and each candidate should be challenged on their silence. This film will increase public awareness.

  • word.

  • I agree, i hope the as good as the trailer. A must see, Thanks for the info.

    Peace

  • I agree...but why not just make a video pointing us to this video?

  • Check your skype.

  • It was brought up as an issue in the '04 campaign (remember Kerry's "back-door draft" debate?) It's very disturbing that Hollywood would paint the character played by Ryan Phillippe who would desert his soldiers, betray his oath and judging by the trailer, flee his country as a "hero" or "martyr". I too was stop-loss'd in 2004 during the Iraq War and I know how bad it sucks, but it's still no excuse to desert.

  • Is it really desertion, if your contract (commitment) is over?

    They aren't leaving the battlefield.

  • In the enlistment contract that everyone signs, DD Form 4/1, it states that "In the event of war, my enlistment in the Armed Forces continues until six (6) months after the war ends, unless the enlistment is ended sooner by the President of the United States", so yes, it is desertion.

  • Yes it is desertion. Under Title 10, United States Code, Section 12305(a) it states that, "the President may suspend any provision of law relating to promotion, retirement, or separation applicable to any member of the armed forces who the President determines is essential to the national security of the United States"

  • Gum!

  • Isn't this trailer copyrighted?

  • Wow, that movie looks so cool!

  • That really looks good.

  • I would define "good" as effective, and accurate, at least in this instance. I believe it is both.
