Just come home from being stood up. Waited 2 hours in the restaurant with all the waiters and waitresses taking pity on me and giving me free drinks, etc. She then 'texted' me at 9:45, 3 hours after our 'date' to say 'sorry' (no explanation) and to see if we can 're-schedule. Should I just tell her to go fuck a large moose?
ya, Belanoff is a totally under-rated bassist. Thsi is gonna sound sexist, but women in rock tend to not be super technically proficient as musicians. All of the guitar etc heroes tend to be men. But Candice really had her groove together. Esp during the early days (e.g. the "Little Man" demos) the bass is almost another melody line, and years of listening to Stevie Wonder (and not punk) developed her cool off-rhythms.
El Producto is such a good album. I reviewed it for some San Diego 'zine when it came out and remember thinking, "This is going to be one of those bands who become huge and I'll be able to say, 'Yeah, I knew them back in '96.'" Wish I could have been right. Walt Mink deserved so much better.
I like Red Edmund's cover of Walt Mink's Miss Happiness. The singers are VERY similar. And, oddly enough the vocal sound quality on both artists versions are kind of crappy. But I think Red Edmund's guitarist is really good and his falsetto is brilliant (on their album). Walt Mink is a rare gem though. So great.
this is freaking great. when is this movie coming out? if the audio is good, this'll be fantastic. love walt mink. candace belanhoff, good god, what a bassist.
This is good stuff ma man... just what I was waiting for! And don't think I didn't spot the twitchy 'roadie' in the corner (lol) Seriously though, it's great. Keep it coming. Me want more
I see they played recently in Brooklyn. Are they gonna be touring/playing anymore shows? Maybe another in NY.

Played with these guys back in 1993. VERY happy to see they are still kicking it hard!

Unfortunately, this was a one-time reunion. They called it quits in the mid-90s.

Really? Cool - I've heard quite a lot about Zach.
Actually, now I know that i can tell the difference - I was waiting to hear Orestes trademark "tanging the hump" towards the end of the song.
Is he going to be in the film at all? He's one of my all time favourite drummers, and I'm gutted I never got to see him live.

Oh man - words fail me :D
I just discovered you guys last year and have been caning Colossus and El Producto ever since.
One question - is that Orestes on drums?

Let's say fall '08 and it's done. The actual audio IS stellar. This is just a junk track we used to sync picture by eye. You're going to love it.

good news... will there be any footage with orestes.. that el producto record was criminally overlooked.

OK it's winter '08. Is this project still alive? I'm itching to see this movie!
