So you're assuming the medieval period was caused by co2.
What about the sun? The most obvious cause of warming and cooling on our planet. Slight % changes in the sun's output affect this planet more than anything

why not just take a look at what is actually happening and cut the BS, the sea level is not rising and the polar ace sheets are not melting and the hurricanes are not more frequent nor intense. It is the same old line of BS, if it a warm event then it is a clear sign of climate change but if it is three consecutively cold winters the it is just weather. If this is true why haven't all time high temperature records been broken?
We are polluting our oceans too much, so the ocean planktons/animals are dying and they cant store or process enough CO2 to reduce it's concentration. Deforestation is one effect too
@ILYIAB there is a reason that that humans cannot make robots that don't lack the qualities of the right side of the human brain. they are using too much left brain to design these robots. scientists and engineers are trying to figure out the algorithm of "intelligence". But there is no algorithm. True intelligence can, will, and only will rise out of chaos. "out of chaos, order will spontaneously arise". if something can happen, it will. manifestation is inevitable. The question was never whether we were in a warming trend, only to what degree man made CO2 emissions were the cause of the warming trend. Why did the last great ice age come to an end long before human industry CO2 emissions? Look at the long term charts. Massive temperature fluctuations are the norm, sometimes with very sharp spikes. Alarmists point to a relative blip in the current data and prescribe severe changes in industry and energy policy with attendant massive economic upheaval.

I suggest there are larger forces at work, solar cycles, volcanic activity, water vapor IR absorption, etc, than man contributed CO2. The historical global temperature records back that up. What factors caused the Pleistocene ice age (or more recent little ice age) to end, obviously without any contribution from human industry? Are these factors not still at work? Climate fluctuation is NORMAL.
@ILYIAB Very scientific reply! I'll leave the peer review to the scientists. There are many who do not subscribe to the IPCC. I have done a cursory check on Prof. Carter's bonafides, and not found him wanting. I simply find it curious that nature can find the means to warm an ice age before human ingenuity held sway.

I find the case for actual cooling 2001 to 2008 compelling. Personally, I am not pro-pollution, I think to a large degree politics has hi-jacked the scientific debate.

Being a lie or not a lie, to me it doesn't matter. What matters the most is the fact that we are not part of the life cycle of nature. We put ourselves and our demands outside the boundries of neture. We call ourselves civilized when in reality we cannot make reason with any of the facts presented. What is the best way to control the world? Make up a lie " Global Warming" make laws that take away peoples freedom and go to war with anyone who doesn't do what they want. Here is my drop in the bucket. My opinion on global warming is that this warming period could be due to the changes of earths magnetic field from the expontentially increasing rate of our magnetic pole shift. However, this does not change the fact that if we need to change over to cleaner ways of providing energy because if we continue to poison our planet which destroys ecosystem after ecosystem, it will soon be OUR system that is killed off.
@xinecallaw The magnetic pole shifting does not effect temperature since the magnetic pole and the rotational pole are somewhat independent. Rotational pole shifting would effect temperatures, but magnetic pole shifting would not. Magnetic pole shifting simply changes where a compass will point and may effect auroras, but I do not see how that would effect temperatures.

@kaderoder the wind farms don't blow wind, they convert wind to electricity. the freezer uses power generated by a power plant which releases co2 to warm the planet.

@SylphViper I would suggest that you do a little research and read Nature, Science, BAMS, etc. and you will find very quickly that your previous research (on the internet?) is unreliable at best. As a research scientist I have done the research and global warming is happening, it is not natural (e.g., the Sun) and it is becoming a major threat to our way of life.

The Sun has been dropping in activity over the last 50 years (look it up - suggest SIDC smoothed sunspot number). Other planets are not ALL warming up and those that MAY BE are not doing it because of the Sun. Mars - dust storms. Pluto seasonal changes. They would all have to warm at the same rate at the same time that is not happening. There is a perfectly plausible explanation why the earth has warmed - AGW.

And even better is; in almost every situation it's much cheaper to be envioument friendly, such as renewable energy, which we'll need sooner or later anyway. Ah common sense and logic would seem to dictate that carbon emissions are doing damage. I live in Ireland. When humans moved to Ireland they cut down trees (Trees convert CO2 to O2) Since we didnt have trees that CO2 was stored in bogs as peat. Now we have dug up all of the bog and burned releasing CO2. Surely that cant be good.
The sun is at its lowest activity since 1850, when a mini ice age occurred in Europe. The thames in london froze. So its obvious that the sun is not the only factor.

why not just take a look at what is actually happening and cut the BS, the sea level is not rising and the polar ace sheets are not melting and the hurricanes are not more frequent nor intense. It is the same old line of BS, if it a warm event then it is a clear sign of climate change but if it is three consecutively cold winters the it is just weather. If this is true why haven't all time high temperature records been broken?

The question was never whether we were in a warming trend, only to what degree man made CO2 emissions were the cause of the warming trend. Why did the last great ice age come to an end long before human industry CO2 emissions? Look at the long term charts. Massive temperature fluctuations are the norm, sometimes with very sharp spikes. Alarmists point to a relative blip in the current data and prescribe severe changes in industry and energy policy with attendant massive economic upheaval.

I suggest there are larger forces at work, solar cycles, volcanic activity, water vapor IR absorption, etc, than man contributed CO2. The historical global temperature records back that up. What factors caused the Pleistocene ice age (or more recent little ice age) to end, obviously without any contribution from human industry? Are these factors not still at work? Climate fluctuation is NORMAL.

Here is my drop in the bucket. My opinion on global warming is that this warming period could be due to the changes of earths magnetic field from the expontentially increasing rate of our magnetic pole shift. However, this does not change the fact that if we need to change over to cleaner ways of providing energy because if we continue to poison our planet which destroys ecosystem after ecosystem, it will soon be OUR system that is killed off.

@xinecallaw The magnetic pole shifting does not effect temperature since the magnetic pole and the rotational pole are somewhat independent. Rotational pole shifting would effect temperatures, but magnetic pole shifting would not. Magnetic pole shifting simply changes where a compass will point and may effect auroras, but I do not see how that would effect temperatures.

On the contrary we should expect it to enhance the net-productivity of the biosphere by providing vital nutrition to green plants and microorganisms. GW means we get more water in the air (evaporation). More energy is added to our planetary system. More energy = powerful storms, extreme clashed between hot and cold.

Also, Jupiter is also facing the same problem, it's aptmosphere has increased 10 degrees, also, are there factories there? It's a cycle in the Solar System where the Sun increases it's heat Radiation, because if you didn't know, ever since 1980 the number of sun spots on the Sun has decreased considerably compared to 2000. Even the Sun's surface temperature has increased.

The greenhouse effect DOES EXIST! It happens even on Venus, where there are absolutely ZERO humans whatsoever. The CO2 traps more heat. I mean, this is basic fucking 6th grade science, for christ sake. And yet you guys are on the denial side are totally denying it simply for your political purposes.

I don't know just how much we contribute, but we contribute at least a good portion. How can anyone say with a straight face our contribution of CO2, ever since the BEGINNING of the Industrial Revolution, at least, makes no dent in warming?? That's laughable. @SylphViper I would suggest that you do a little research and read Nature, Science, BAMS, etc. and you will find very quickly that your previous research (on the internet?) is unreliable at best. As a research scientist I have done the research and global warming is happening, it is not natural (e.g., the Sun) and it is becoming a major threat to our way of life.

The data provided on that was completely unreliable. Global Warming IS happening, but not because of pollution. It's a heating phase on the Sun, nothing more. Other planets are heating up too, and it is NOT coincidence. Don't believe me? Look it up!!

The Sun has been dropping in activity over the last 50 years (look it up - suggest SIDC smoothed sunspot number). Other planets are not ALL warming up and those that MAY BE are not doing it because of the Sun. Mars - dust storms. Pluto seasonal changes. They would all have to warm at the same rate at the same time that is not happening. There is a perfectly plausible explanation why the earth has warmed - AGW.

And even better is; in almost every situation it's much cheaper to be envioument friendly, such as renewable energy, which we'll need sooner or later anyway. Saving electricity, water and so on, will also make everyday life much cheaper. Plus this will also help us keeping general pollution down!

Ah common sense and logic would seem to dictate that carbon emissions are doing damage. I live in Ireland. When humans moved to Ireland they cut down trees (Trees convert CO2 to O2) Since we didnt have trees that CO2 was stored in bogs as peat. Now we have dug up all of the bog and burned releasing CO2. Surely that cant be good.
The sun is at its lowest activity since 1850, when a mini ice age occurred in Europe. The thames in london froze. So its obvious that the sun is not the only factor.
