We were at this show and I had a good feeling they would play this on the last night of that North American tour in a smaller venue like Radio City. The MSG show the day before had more "radio, fan friendly" songs on the setlist. This setlist had more obscure and raw songs from the early days. And low and behold Forever in the end. They NEVER play this song in North America for some reason. It's a Europe exclusive concert track unfortunately. But on that night I heard it for the first time! :-)
Everytime I have seen the Cure I cross my fingers that they will play this song, but I've never had the pleasure. I love this song! I wish that there was a compilation of every version of Forever. I would listen to that until it wore out!
were you there??? cuz i was and you could feel the emotion swirling around the room....i thought it fuckin rocked and damn its the very last song of the fucking tour...I personally think it was amazing...and Robert never gave less than 100%
everyone who attended the RCMH show is blessed... What a great performance to end a legendary tour with Porl back in the line-up, you were all truly blessed to see this show.
for all of you who didn't know, "Forever" has been a staple to end "cool" cure shows since 81-82... I've had the pleasure of seeing it several times, its is different every time. And no, it was never released.
I was right behind this camera, I could not believe when they went into Forever after A Forest. I thought I'd never get to relive this moment...THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
OMG....I wanted to hug him so bad when this ended....I wanted to scream and cry and comfort him....god I am so depressed now that this tour has ended....all I can think about is Robert and the guys...
You're welcome to all! There was some dude in front of me still clapping with his hands in the air from "A Forest" blocking the view, so I didn't get the beginning.
The legendary "Forever". Thank you for posting this. I've waited so long to see this live and I was there. 1st Balcony about 10 rows back. Truly a moment in time that will be with me until the end.
I know exactly what you mean. I was lucky enough to catch them playing it at the Toronto Curiosa and was caught so caught offguard. Really was the best 8 mins of live music i've ever experienced.
Every time they play that one it sounds so different. What an amazing treat. All bands should have the one song that they never record, and only play once on each tour.
Amazing song, amazing show. I was in the 1st mezzanine on the right side, and was about 5 feet from Robert when he climbed up there during "Freakshow."
Forever was the first time I've ever heard a song I didn't recognize at a Cure show...I had heard bootlegs of it a few times, and I figured this was probably it. Nonetheless, I wandered around Radio City asking everyone if they knew if the last song was forever, and nobody could tell me. I finally just sent Craig a text, and he confirmed it!

Great song! All the times I've seen them, they seem to play the same popular songs, but never the B-sides (what I prefer)...

However good or bad they played it, it's just plain amazing and excellent, they played it at all!

There are live versions on "Faith" and "The Top" deluxe editions, it's on a few of bootlegs, and was played in one of the Peel Sessions.

Oh man. So happy to know what this is. A colleague and I couldn't figure it out. As we were leaving, he asked,"Do you know what that was?"
and my response was "...it was awesome!"
