The game rock paper scissors is called it for a reason, it gives each player 3 choices, there is a 1 in 3 chance of winning. The paper is supposed to wrap around the rock to suffocate it. If the rock was to beat and rip the paper then the game would be pointless at the end of the day as there would then be a 1 in 2 chance of winning.
