  • People who think Americans are ignorant simpletons would not be prepared to live here, where there are plenty of dumb and intelligent people for company.

  • john sessions looks like that woman who is always a witness or something in midsomer murders and also commonly plays priests (she played one in a catherine tate skit)... I never know her name but I see her all the time... I swear they are related......

  • For a performer, Stephen Fry seems really shy here!

  • @Gubbywubby

It's a genuine lack of confidence,

I love the man to death because of it honestly.

Humble brilliance, and miserably unaware of it.

  • @FallDownDontGetUp Haha, absolutely!

  • @KatTheGinger Well, I'm 27 and NOT homosexual.....:D

  • Stephen is adorable!

  • what does fry say during "worlds worst" that has everyone so upset?

  • @Formula405 "Whop some skull on that, Bitch," which is slang for, "Suck my dick, bitch."

  • the British version of WLIIA is so much more cerebral than the American version.

  • @averagehomosapien HEY! A Colin Joke.

  • Epic mullet at 5:02

  • stephen fry is so beautiful <3

  • have you guys noticed that in the US version, they never played authors? Prob cause most Americans don't read.

  • @BeigeFunk Sadly, I think you're right.

  • @BeigeFunk While they didn't do it in the US version, there'sa game called, 'Story' in The Green Screen Show and Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza, in which they make up their own story. Not quite the same, sadly, but it's the closest we'll get.

  • @BeigeFunk Shit, I replied before I read the description, which says that the actually play Story in this episode. Ahhhh!! Headdesk!

  • @BeigeFunk As much as I would like to say thats not true because I DO read, I have to say its honestly the truth. Sometimes you can feel like youre surrounded by idiots.

  • Stephen, wy didn't you pick Oscar Wilde? As funny as this was....We all know yo're his reincarnation

  • Stephen Fry is reaver from the fable series

  • Aw, Stephen is so young here. What a sweetheart.

  • MULLET! MULLET! DO YOU SEE THE MULLET?!

  • I think as John's beard grows, so does his humour.

  • People who don't get the skull joke...he's saying 'get your skull on that' that being his junk, meaning, 'give me head now'.

It's much funnier when you don't explain it out lol.

  • Oh, Stephen. I think I am in love.

  • 5.06 ..MULLET!!!

  • I don't really get all these "the author game would never fly in America" comments i read. Sure maybe Americans are less well read than people in other parts of the world but did the author game really fly in England? Wasn't it ditched after the first or second season in order to appeal to a broader demographic during the show's original run?

Maybe I'm misinformed but for sure they ditched the game in later series when the show was at the height of its' popularity.

  • Oh I love Stephen.

  • What does Stephen Fry say at 08:28? I couldn't hear it properly.

  • Poor John, he's bloody nervous

  • stephen fry...I'm utterly in love with that man

  • i feel so bad for stephen he is very nervous

  • How old is Fry in this video

  • What does Stephen say at 8.28, and what does is mean?

  • @hellish88 "Whop some skull on that bit(ch?)" What he means by it, though, I do not know. Maybe a reference to Henry VIII and the beheading of his wives? Not sure, some clarity on it would be much appreciated.

  • @Feldkahl well i'm not ENTIRELY certain what he's going for, but skull is slang for fellatio...

  • At 4:25, was the guy hitting a bowl or blunt? I swear it looked like he was exhaling smoke and started waving it away lol.

  • Enn does a splendid Dashiell Hammett impression. Though this is the first time I've heard it pronounced like "Dash-aye-ell", I usually hear it pronounced "Dash-ell".

  • Hahahah, Fry is brilliant!!! As are the others, but his tales and 'That reminds me, I must buy a stamp.' killed me. xDDD

  • @WizdomOfFear

Only a stupid person could say that. Lucky for you there are plenty of other stupids to share your belief in the the U.S. (P.S. - I'm American).

Quite to the contrary, the the American version that has never so much as brought a smile to my face. Fully dumbed down for the downed dumb Americans.

  • my god the US version had so much more energy this is just so fucking akward and its not just this episode even with a good BBC comedian its still boring

  • That reminds me I must buy a stamp....

  • wait what did fry say that so offended everyone? i dont get it...

  • why does the host take the points so seriously! loll i guess im just too used to drew

  • Don't put all your legs in one bastard :)

  • My God, Stephen is absolutely beautiful

  • a lot of hate on Americans in these comments... I'm Canadian, but I'm not too ignorant to notice that America is the most powerful nation in the world because of something other than pure chance.

  • Salute you for your fantastic choice of upload - I'm compiling best of wliia vids

    Thanks

  • OH MY GOD!!! 5:06 <<<---- Its billy ray cyrus.

  • fry's moral with the whole "don't put all your legs in one bastard" is pure genius.

  • This reminds me of a comment by Josie Long on Buzzcocks, talking to Stephen Fry: "Could I just ask.. is there any chance you would consider adopting some or all of us?"

I want Fry to read me a bedtime story too. xD

(though lord knows it'd end up a dirty one)

  • @WireMosasaur All the Harry Potter series are read by Stephen. Enjoy.

  • @WireMosasaur I want a dirty bedtime story too!

  • well, they *did* ask for the worst thing to say when being introduced to a member of the Royal family. my god though, i can't stop watching stephen's face at that bit!

  • The "author" game would never fly in America.

  • The only Authors most Americans can name are Stephanie Meyer, Dan Brown and Jesus (Or whoever they think wrote the bible)

  • wow, thanks. cause people in america are represented by one group of people, and if the redneck christians didnt choose the "bible-author" they would choose either a crap one, or a highly intellectual one. And i suppose they wouldnt understand what Dan Brown said either, right?

im sorry, im just sick of these stereotypes. people in america are NOT what the world thinks they are, they have brains and often utilize them well.

  • I agree, I'm British but live in the USA. Unfortunately, the examples of stupid people in America are so phenomenally stupid that those outside the USA see only that.

In the same way, the British are seen as grey, boring, bowler hat-wearing posh people who live in castles and all have tea with the queen.

  • It was Oprah

  • L O FUCKING L

  • Right because we know nothing of the classical works such as Shakespeare and Dante, nor of any other books than those in popular culture.

In fact if you are going to go with that view there are several more authors that many Americans can name based on movies alone, such as J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.

And, for your information you ignoramus, the Bible was written by a large number of people, Jesus is not among their numbers.

  • Of course i know that you blundering simpleton, I'm merely stating that many thousands of americans, if quized would probably assert that jesus wrote the bible, particularly given that 50 odd percent of you are creationists, and a similar number don't know the sun's a star, an alarming minority think the president's a Muslim etc, I know that many Americans are intelligent, but don't deny there's a lot of buffoons out there as well. It's no different in my country either.

  • I think that as an American, I'm supposed to be offended at your comment.

But all I can say is...yeah...that's all true...

I know a guy with an "If English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for America!" sign in his front yard (complete with crucifix, waving stars-n-stripes, and a bald eagle).

Of course, I live in the Deep South. In other places it tends to be less crazy, but you can't completely get away from it, either.

  • Yes, please don't think I'm anti-American. I just don't see the point in denying the fact that 51 percent of them don't know the sun is a star.

  • @StKildaFan Actually, by Christian standards, Christ did write the Bible, not directly of course, but through inspiring the words in Moses the prophets etc. Thats what gives the Bible authority, it is the word of God--- and since Christ is also God, he wrote the Bible.

  • @StKildaFan 50%? i fucking hope not. im dutch btw not english or american. but america is knee deep in idiots.

  • Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Stanford, Rice, Duke, Berkeley, UChicago, Georgetown, UPenn, Northwestern, Tulane, Vanderbilt, MIT, CalTech, UCLA, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

The depth and scope of intellectual pursuits undertaken in the U.S. is astounding. Given the content of your comment, I'm willing to bet that, but for your accent, you have a great deal in common with the people you disdain.

    P.S. NASA

  • For The Millionth time, I am fully aware of the many, Intelligent, inquisitive forward thinking Americans who are educated and culturally/scientifically literate. I do not think that you are all idiots and apologize If I've offended you. But, there is no point denying an alarming minority of ill-informed, ultra right wing, history denying fundamentalists that you're country has produced. The comment was a throwaway remark that was not meant literally, and I apologize for the confusion.

  • @StKildaFan I wonder if you are even familiar with the work of the real stars your country has produced. Belloc puts you to shame. It's tragic and ironic the degree to which everything you say can be traced to an inimical American influence.

  • I miss this show terribly! Now all the Americans think they invented it. And they don't have Clive Anderson as the presenter, so it's that much worse.

  • Fry is so awkwardly cute.

  • that's because he's gay

  • @wingedhamham i was thinking the same thing,i just want to hug him ^.^

  • okay, does stephen fry look way younger in this episode, than in episode three?

  • I think it's the hair.

  • Wow Stephen looked amazing before and even now o.O whats his secret,,,,

  • semen

  • haha nah that never worked

    on my mom's friend xD

  • You can add Josie Lawrence to my shortlist of comediennes I have a schoolboy crush on. Others include Jennifer Saunders and Samantha Bee.

  • "Oh stiff thighed child of my hopes" !!!!!!!!! ahahahahahhaha

  • "Jane swung casually in" *THUD* LOL

"and the moral of the story is don't put all your legs in one bastard." XD

    These guys are great! ^_^

  • i am loving Stephen's luscious chestnut tresses!

  • stephen was very dashing when he was younger!

  • I agree with mico 2020 what did stephen say?! im dying to know lol..

  • what did Stephen say about the royal family that got the crowd cheering lol

  • it sounded like he said "you want some skull on that bit?"

  • It's "whop some skull on that bitch" and its connected to giving head / oral sex if you will ^^

  • "don't put all your legs in one bastard!"

    genius

  • 5:10 MULLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is where Stephen adapted the complex QI scoring system from

  • when jon sessions is tarzan at the begining he sounds like alan carr

  • "Isn't it funny what happened to the Romanovs, isn't it? Blood everywhere!"

  • ahaha.

    genius.

don't put all your legs in one bastard.

    stephen fry is oustandingly amazing

  • "John Sessions, who as far as this show is concerned, he's irreplaceable. Goodness to Lord we've tried"

  • I love Josie's hair!

  • "whop some scun on that bit"

scun = slang for facial matter, i.e. shoving your face on "that bit" i.e. his penis, as stephen fry was motioning his fly open, off-camera.

in other words he's saying "giz a suck."

  • lordy lordy, ure explanation of that made me gasp!

I know stephen gets very, um vocal, in his comedy, but he still seems much too cute and sophisticated to be saying something like that! Eh, i'll love him anyway!

  • I know! I was like...did that smart, sophisticated man just say something so bawdy? Hilarious!

  • Clive Anderson's a wanker. Stephen Fry is gorrrgeous :)

  • John is getting sexier with every episode!

  • what a perrrrfect mullet @ 5:10 !

  • Stephen Fry is wonderful and adorable and a million other things.

  • This version is funny, but i like the U.S Version more :P

  • Holy Moly, Stephen is adorable!!

  • God, I love Stephen's hair in this episode!

  • Am i right in thinking the Merchant Banker in its rhyming slang variant?

  • "don't put all your legs in one bastard" - brilliant

  • sessions is so hilarious. and so is fry.

    bloody good comedy.

  • Aaaaah!!!! John Sessions in a beard... Nearly gave a heart attack that did!

  • John is so silly!!!

  • Amazing high quality on these!

  • It's actually "Whop some skull on that, bitch!"

  • I actualy thought he was right!

  • what does stephen say at 5:17 and what does it mean?

  • He says, 'RUC Constable, then I'll begin." It's wordplay - 'RUC' is 'Royal Ulster Constabulary,' the Protestant police force in Northern Ireland. The joke is on, 'RU'/'Are you'. It doesn't make a LOT of sense - it's a bit like saying, 'If you're a cop, I'll tell my story,' though with Irish trouble overtones. Reminds me of "F-U-C-Kay, tell her I said, Hi" and "C-U-Next Tuesday."

  • It's a play on the opening of some childrens show a while back that was: 'Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin'

  • They have more fun with introductions on this version. American version's aren't really funny.

  • what did stephen say the first he spoke? in the World's worst?

  • he said "wop some skull on that, bitch!" but the end of bitch was hard to hear. He was probably motioning to undo his flies but we can't see that :-D

  • what did stephen say? oh man, i didn't catch it! does anyone know? pls..

  • HAHAHAHA...stephen fry says "he had two sons, kazim and iqbal - who was a leg break bowler"...hahaha he is talking about the great pakistani leg spinner iqbal qasim in the 70s who was always under the shadow of the greater pakistani leg spinner maestro abdul qadir...seems like stephen likes cricket alot to know about him :)

  • "And the moral of the story is don't put all your legs in one bastard!" XoD

  • I think that the "Authors" game and "Story" game are really dificult

  • ha you can hear while the title is up near the end someone say

    "Oh dear me!"

    lol =]

  • Answer me this, why are all the cute guys- Stephen Fry for example- GAY!?

  • *sigh* It's one of the world's unexplained tragic mysteries.

  • I love early whose lines! Clive looks so shy, and everyone tries so hard to be good, not just funny.

btw: I guess the contestants were allowed to smoke in between games back then! Look at the table at 5:57.

  • Yep, I also noticed the packet of cigarettes on Enn Reitel's table.

  • I LOVE this episode....and I love Stephen Fry, and I love John Sessions.

  • oh, stephen looks so shy :)

  • haha stephen fry about the royal family!!

''wop some scun on that bit!''

    he's got balls lol

    (8:25)

  • "Whop some skull on that, bitch!" XoD

  • I don't get it, aside from the fact that the Queen would die if anyone said that to her.

Oh God, Fry is shudderingly gorgeous.

  • Thank for uploading! I really prefer the UK version to the US version (but they both rock)!!
