The only problem is the money stimulates nothing. Ridiculous spending and tax cuts, where does the money come from? The Fed. You can't create wealth from nothing. And inflation's full force is only truly felt by the poor.

What do you mean "stimulates nothing." The point of the plan is to "stimulate" economic activity by creating jobs directly through government spending and indirectly through tax cuts (the former is much more effective than the later).

Are you arguing that it will not create jobs or do you mean something else?

I'm arguing that we're spending while cutting taxes and that the only we we'll get the money to cover the spending is through borrowing or inflation. My impression of the stimulus is it's more about keeping institutions alive (that should go bankrupt) on the backs and to the detriment of everyone else. Sure jobs will be created, but that ignores that they're created on the backs of the already burdened others and will only make us all the poorer.

I think Obama should just have a "take it or leave it" provision on the state money. Let those who want reject the money and see how their electorate likes a 15% unemployment rate. And disregard those states when assessing the effectiveness of the stimulus and Obama's economic policies. Lord know we don't need South Carolina's economic 'strength'.

I am disgusted with Sandford and with the shark killers. A shark is a stupid fish but to spend two hours killing it on camera is digusting and cruel. Sanford could have joined Crist and Arnold in taking the money and blast at every other Obama policy. His people would have thanked him for it and after he was reelected his position in the GOP would be far more solid than Steele's.

I have to check up on the Shark Story. When I surfed a lot here in SF I would see the occasional Leopard Shark... sometimes other kinds too... They're curious. I even had one brush under my foot like a cat while I was sitting on a board waiting for a set to start.

It's really rare that any sharks around here have taken a bite outta anyone... and we have Great Whites breeding right off shore here.

2 hours of killing anything is sick.

In Florida every-so-often one bites someone. And, rarely, sometimes you get a picture of a whole school of sharks swimming around people in a beach in three feet of water. When I saw that I was horrified. But I guess that to sharks we are just too weird.  But, since they are stupid fishes, sometimes they take a bite to see what in HELL is that.
