I had a house six blocks away from this and sold it in 1988. I'd be a milionare if I'd kept it. Grrrrrr

Hmm - that doesn't look like the sun-sails at Griffith - just looks like an every-day fabric-shade-cloth thingy. And I thought I read where the monorail from Expo was sold off overseas - I thought the one at Seaworld was there when Expo was on.

The Seaworld monorail is only a part of the original Expo one. I know someone who went to Seaworld in 1987, and they said the monorail hadn't been put in yet.

Tanru2000 you are absolutely correct! I went to Expo when I was 6 a bunch of times & rode the monorail, & earlier in the same year I went to seaworld for my 6th birthday & rode the monorail there too! It can't have been in two places at once. Also those Griffith shade sails are not the expo shade sails... dodgy channel 7, dodgy. BTW I miss expo =( Even Southbank has gone downhill since it opened. Remember the Gondwana Land Zoo, the Butterfly house & the Eco Center?

Yeah Southbank was better but it WAS also worse - it's like it's been very uneven over the last 20 years.
Never as good as Expo. It was a hard act to follow.
Was at southbank the othernight - and when i walk through south bank I try and picture the different buildings. One day I want to go there with my old expo map and walk around... :)
Maybe i'll ask some people for directions and get them to look at the map! ;)

What happened to the bit with where the Queensland Pavilion, became a church? (As for the news studio inside the pavilion where did it end up post-Expo?)
