And not all religious folks believe that the "church" as an establishment should have the domineering imperialistic role that we have witnessed to a great degree in the West. There are records of early anarchist/communist communities of pre Catholic christians.

I dont subscribe to the very orthdox views of anarchist/marxist thought in its relation to ones spiritual beliefs, in the same way I do not subscribe to some of the very exceptionalist and imperialistic views of some "christian" organizations.

Religion aside, ones identity as being Jewish dosnt always revolve around their beliefs. One can be an athiest and also Jewish. Almost like an ethnicity.

The yiddish radicals in the New York and London ghettos in the late 19th century and early 20th century didn't necessarily speak yiddish (the language of this song) due to religious reasons, it was the culture, the community! Ladino and Yiddish are two very different languages of 2 branches within the Jewish culture. Ladino is based on Medieval Spanish, languages and elements of Hebrew is the language of the Sephardim. While Yiddish the language of the Ashkenazim is based on Medieval German & written in Hebrew characters. Both were important languages of the diaspora rich in literature, history, music etc. Sadly the Holocaust and assimilation have made both virtually extinct.

i am jewish and i believe that zionism is the internalization of anti-semitism. i am against nationalism, and i think that ethnocracies are always racist. it's wrong to play demographic games to try to keep america's white majority intact, and it's wrong to suppress palestinian's right to national self-determination in order to maintain a country with a jewish majority...it's racist, even if it is hard to accept because we were victimized by the same ethnic nationalism for so long.

The state is simply pits one against another, the disposable tools of warlords and plutocrats on whose behalf we fight our fellow man.
