thats radeck stepaneck hes acing and radecks no dummy but its hard to guess without giving away where your going to go when up against a serve like that but stepaneck still comes through by winning.. in all honesty i like ivo.. he should have won this match :(

Yes isner played against karlovic this year and won 6/1 7/6. Karlovic is thé best server but isner is so much better on his baseline, he has a juge forehand. Isner won because he is more complet, and karlovic didn't serve very well this day.

wouldn't clay suit Karlovic's hight? i know clay is slower and the ball bounces higher, so you would think he would be able to swing away a bit more, like Del Potro (or that other guy, whose name i cannot remember atm-- he was in the French Open Finals in '09)

3:23 and 3:28 same boll toss on T and wide serve. Great serve, nice volleys, Ivo really has maximized his ability and with that serve probably still has 4-5 yrs of top-50 tennis in him even though he's almost 30 yrs.

You always have a chance to win as long as u hold your serve. Karlovic only weapon is his serve, maybe a few volleys also, but thats it. Stepanek is a great vollier.

Bottom line is you apparently know absolutely nothing about tennis or surfaces. If big servers like Karlovic served better on clay you would have seen players Ivanisevic and Kraijeck play and win more clay tournaments. Big servers prosper on grass and hard courts. Karlovic served this many aces because he had 6 hours to do it and he averages around 50 aces during 5-setters anyway. This was expected.

You have reason in the 6 hours but you haven´t understand me. The best surface to serve is grass, obvioubsly. But clay let the ball get a higher bounce, and this is better to ACES.

One important thing about Karlovic and his service.U surely know about situation in former Yugoslavia at 90s.Especially during war he could hardly get to any court.And he had no couch or even buddie to train with...So he served...for hours...and hours...He simply couldn't train whole court tennis much.

He's not sport academy prefabricated kid who's biggest deal in whole life is how to cope with the eternal cycle of various surfaces during the year.

It was thriller,not exactly beautiful tennis but real battle. Just 3 broken games from 78(+4 tiebreaks ). Stepanek lost just one of his 39 served games,Karlovic two. So it's not all about aces. Games weren't extra long but they played so much them it took 6 hours...(Most games since tiebreaks is 83,just one more)
