Semi naked girls, weetabix monsters, giga godzilla and a gun that sounds like a sample from late 80s house music. Winning combination. Top game and conversion.

For sure the ST music was better, if I can clean up the sound a bit I think I will play as I drive through traffic. Big thanx to my sis for helping me clock this way back then. 7 broken Tandy joystics was a small price to pay to beat this bastard.
I had an atati st and even just the music takes me back. I watched the amiga version before and the music is totally different. I like the st music better, but its probably just nostalgia. I remember thinkin the graphics were amazin at the time.
My friend had this on his Amiga 1200, we both played it and took a side on the keyboard each, i think he found a cheat where you can cause explosions onscreen by pushing 2 or 3 keys together.
I have finished this game with my cousin... Several times... Only because there was a "trainer" mode option added by crackers ;-) Nice music, nice gfx, nice idea and superb gameplay for kids.
@FluffyFooFookins perhaps it is possible. Thing was that the final gauntlet was EPROM's point of no continues. However Atari was rather lenient to have the played add more coins for the purpose of purchasing bombs and extra lives. of course, with Mame's Cheat.dat file, it is easy to cheat your way through many of these "point of no continue" games.
I must have been around 7 when i played this. Got it free with the atari st, and was always my favourite game of them all. 2 player coop at its best.
Looking at it now after all these years i thought it would look crap, still great, especially the music, and how the gun shoots to the beat everytime. love if someone made a remake, or better still just apdated the graphics.
I just love the way the sounds effects are synchonised to the music in this.
I looked this up because I still remember the music despite not having played it for
15 years. One of my favourite ST games and definitely the the one with the best music.

That music put a smile on my face. Thanks.

LOL, my friends and I always called this game "That fun Atari game with the long assed name." This looks like a really cool conversion.

the music is incredible

I was fucking awful at this game, but I loved the music+sound. Even at 26 years old I still find myself humming the bass-beat to myself.

Just checked out the Amiga version, and for sure the music is nowhere near as good as this. Totally different set of tunes.
Maybe it's something about the YM2149 being so able to make corny late-1970s Dr Who sounds? ;)

Is this Atari ST. I remeber the Amiga version - better sound and music, graphically similar. Not a bad game overall.

@MaxxUnending Yeah, its the Atari ST version albeit emulated. I remember always wanting an Amiga 500 though.

I can never seem to get a working Amiga emulator. Cheap enough to buy one on ebay - they are not always in good nic though.

I could never kill the 2nd reptilon boss on this game when I was a kid.
Even though I tried many times, felt impossible.
Was hoping I'd find a full walkthrough of the game on the internet one day, not yet. :*(

Thanks for this footage. I never managed to finish this game years ago. Did anyone make it to the last level and if so what did you encounter there?
floris80 4 years ago
Well I never managed to finish it years ago on the Atari 1040 STe. I might try and finish it later though. :p

Thanks for the reply. At least I'm not the only one who never made it, if it's even possible :)
