I consider myself lucky and honored to have witnessed such a great artist perform. Many will live a life without that honor...Long live the queen Liza!!!!
Judy: her mom. Liza: her daughter. (a Powerful thing, and then the 'Work'...wow.) Blessings to ALL, and Vincente: watch over that all, please Sir. Love
You know, I hate it when people compare and pick favorites between artists. Case in point, Judy and Liza. I love them both and respect each of them for their individual talents. Why must people pick favorites? I see so much of Judy in Liza but that doesn't mean I blur the lines and incessantly compare the two. I love them both for what they have shared with their public. They are both amazing performers and the world would be a sadder, colder place without having known either of them.
You know it's kind of funny. If you look at the children of the great performers of the past, such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Judy Garland, who went off and tried to have musical careers of their own on the shoulders of their parents -- the only one that really made it was Liza. And while I don't think Liza quite has Judy chops -- she sure has had the benefit of stepping of Judy's shoulders and being talented all on her own.

she does great numbers throughout this concert. however, her voice is kinda flat most of the time. I assume it's the Carnegie Hall show; the one from the Radio City is much more powerful vocally, even though it's got some cheesy elements like the step dance ladies.
Legend!

why is she not going like elsie? can someone explain?
shenlongtang 3 years ago
because she doesn't want to die a depressing drug related death i guess.
dudewheresmydignity 3 years ago 2
yes, thats what the song means, but why though, cuz for a quite while, she did want to.
shenlongtang 3 years ago
i guess her outlook on life changed. or maybe she just thought it would be cute to change things up.
dudewheresmydignity 3 years ago
new perspective after rehab, life'll do that to ya!
jodifleisher 3 years ago
she has changed it back now with respect to the original song but early in recovery i think it was too hard for her to say that without meaning it

The stint at Carnegie Hall in 1987 really tired her out as she's said herself. She almost performed herself to death with that gig.
