  • Pataki for President !!!

  • pataki nem jo van

  • pataki nem szep van!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pataki is a douche! What right does he have running around the globe telling the world how much human rights Americans have and how the Slovaks are bad. Last I check the US has more people in jail per capita AND in sheer number (more than well populated states like China). What about bombing civilians in Serbia, the war in Iraq (Marines killing entire families?), Afghanistan war? What about the US's uncondition support of the terrorist state Isreal? Fuck Pataki and the horse he rode in on.

  • You've opened up a can of worms here. Let me begin by declaring that your comments are unsolicited and unwelcomed.

Next, George Elmer Pataki (born June 24, 1945) is an American politician who was the 53rd Governor of New York serving three consecutive four-year terms from January 1, 1995 until December 31, 2006. He is a member of the Republican Party and was seen as a possible 2000 and 2008 Presidential candidate.

  • The Slovak language laws may be unfair, (like the English-only laws some people want in the US), but I live in New York and Pataki IS a douche. If you support him just because he's of Hungarian ancestry, you have poor ways of judging people's worth.

Michal Slahor is right about the rest.

  • While I may respect your right to your opinion, respect my right to my own. There are many individualistic reasons for supporting political candidates, usually in connection with special interests, in this case Pataki's Hungarian descent and his supporting BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS of ethnic minority Hungarians in the Slovak Republic.

You may disagree with majority rule, but that is the foundation of democracy.

  • OK so you DO support him becasue he's Hungarian? People may indeed vote according to things like ethnic loyalty, but it's really not a good basis for choosing leaders.

When did I ever say or imply that I disagree with majority rule?

  • Pataki was the 4-term governor of the State of New York; I don't think that the majority of the U.S. population of that state voted for him and elected him to the highest office of the State, because he is Hungarian.

  • Regardless of the fact that some in the U.S. may want English-only laws in the U.S., it has not passed any state referendum, and has certainly NOT be enacted in of the 50 states of the U.S.

Such a law has not passed in the U.S. for the precise reason that it is not only unfair to certain minorities, but, at its roots, it is undemocratic.

  • Unlike criticizing the U.S. does not make one anti-American, it DOES make one anti-Semitic when criticizng Israel, since, coincidentally, the overwhelming majority of Israelites are semitic, both Jewish and Muslim. Criticizing me is simply foolish, since personal insults have no affect on the issues, except to underline my support for or disapproval of those issues. Personal insults will not change the reality of those issues.

  • No. Governments and states aren't people. Does criticizing the Slovak state or its laws make you anti-Slovak? OK, then. There are people who want no criticism of Israel or its policies and oneof their weapons is the abilty to cry antisemitism whenever any criticism is voiced. When Jews criticize Israel--as many do--they are called "self-hating".

Do you consider that anyone onhere who disagrees with you hates Hungarians as a group? That's what I meant.

  • Criticizing the policies of the Slovak Republic DOES make me anti-Slovak. This is not a personal bias, a religious bias, an ethnic bias, but a political bias. This is distinctly different from criticizing the policies of Israel. Israel is all about the world's Jewry. Racially or ethnically slurring Israel is tantamount to racially or ethnically slurring Jews. They are one and the same. There can be no political bias without racial and ethnic bias in the UNIQUE situation of the State of Israel.

  • You might have stated in the articulate criticism of Pataki whether or not you are a U.S. citizen and whether or not you even turned out to vote. You can criticize Pataki, BECAUSE you live in the U.S. Let's hear your criticism, next, of Ian Slota, or let us hear a citizen of the Slovak Republic criticize this warmongering, xenophobic HATE advocate.

  • In September 2007, President George W. Bush appointed Pataki as a United States delegate to the 2007 United Nations General Assembly session. In this capacity, Pataki attends various meetings of the UN General Assembly and GA committees on behalf of the United States, during the annual GA session. When he was appointed to the post, to which he was confirmed by the United States Senate, Pataki announced he was planning on focusing on climate change and terrorism issues while at the UN.

  • His alma mater is Yale University and Colombia Law School. His professionas are attorney and politician. His party is the Republican Party; his faith is Roman Catholic.

And you? According to your own channel profile, you are a 24-year-old from Canada with a SlovenSKY background, judging from the friends you keep. Not only can one surmise that you are a Slovak nationalist, but one can also deduce, again from your friends, that you are strongly anti-Hungarian AND antisemitic.

  • If the Slovak language law is bad, criticize IT, not Slovaks in general. Criticizing US policy doesn't make one anti-American and criticizing Israel doesn't make one antisemitic. Nor does criticizing you necessarily make one anti-Hungarian.

  • Although you have a valid point, you must be watching a different video than the one I posted, because I do not recall anyone's saying that Slovaks are bad. Personally, I tend to judge a person by his deeds, rather than his words, on the rare occasion that I am being judgmental. Usually, I try NOT to pass judgment on others.

  • You were bashing some other poster for being Slovak (("SlovenSKY"), which discredits you as someone who's merely interested in justice.

  • The video is not about ME, now is it? Incidentally, my personal bias against the Slovak Republic does not support or repudiate the point of this video. The point is made that the Slovak Language Law has no place in contemporary, democratic European society.

  • I have to give you credit for at least admitting your bias. Here's something that would help the situation a lot: ahve the Hungarian government admit that it was wrong when it suppressed Slovak language and culture when Slovakia was part of Hungary. It wouldn't cost anything and would ameliorate the wounds of past injustice among reasonable Slovaks. Of course it won't be enough for cementhead Slovak nationalists and their Hungarian counterparts will scream treason.

  • BTW, in my opinion, a statement like "What about the US's uncondition support of the terrorist state Isreal?" far exceeds merely criticizing a country's policies. Labeliing a nation as "terrorist" in this context is not a criticism of its policies, but a criticism of the very nature and character of the country itself, in this instance a Jewish state that contains both Jewish residents and Islamic Arabic citizens.

  • I'll buy that, as long as you're equally critical of US politicians when the call Iran etc. terrorist states.

  • By and large, especially in the case of Iran, as in other Islamic kingdoms and republics, the population is emphatically anti-American, wishing death upon ALL Americans. Rather than declaring war (in the conventional sense), these countries resort to guerilla warfare that targets civilians, included among Americans and Israelis. According to the modern definition of terrorism, these countries are indeed terrorist states in every sense of that term.

  • Moreover, Israel has not declared "jihad" on Arabs, or even Moslems, but has, instead treated their sick and wounded, contributed to their water supplies, and extended every accord to them humanly possible. But, they are not willing, understandably, to simply lay down their very lives, their very existence, for the sake of the occupiers, invaders, or daily attackers.

  • "...contributed to their water supplies"!!!!!!!

you've got it backwards Palestinian villages (and East Jerusalem lack water because it's diverted to Illegal Jewish settlements).

  • Not true. Visitors to Iran empahtically find a welcoming attitude and the frequent statement that they're opposed to US policy not people. Learn some Israeli history and you'll see that Israel was born in terrorism and still targets civilians.

  • Israel, not unlike Hungary, has re-occupied its ancient homeland, and their neighbors, along with anti-Jews in the world at large, refuse to accept this fact. Sad, but true. The sooner this one simple notion is accepted, the sooner there will be peace in the Mideast.

  • So when are you moving back to Hungary so the Native Americans can occupy theri ancient homelands? Read the Bible and you'll learn that the ancient homeland of the Jews is Mesopotamia--that's where Abraham came from. And the Ashkenazi are descendents of Khazar converts. Their anceint homeland is the Caucasus.

Jews have a right to live in Israel/Palestine as equals to Palesitnian Arabs.

  • @EuroAmerican02 this video is not About israel why in too this video Israel is only 63years what Israel inv\ant to the world no Countrie in the world did why you don"t talk good About Israel always the put Down Israel comen Israel is one off the Best Countries the world go and visit and you see with you eyes

  • @VivaIsrael4ever1800 Tell me EXACTLY where and how I put down Israel. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

  • @EuroAmerican02 WHY IS YOU HAVE TO BRING iSRAEL IN TO THIS VIDEO CAN ASK WHY WHAT WAS THE REASON

  • @VivaIsrael4ever1800 aatlus brought Israel into the dialogue between us about 1 year ago for the first time. In all, Israel is mentioned 26 times by proper name. You will find that I am in a defensive position regarding Israel in those instances where I used Israel's name. Remember, one is innocent until proven guilty. Israel was used in a good way most of the time, by way of setting an example. Let's not get too sensitive for our own good.

  • Not only will viewers and I take thiese background tidbits of your background into consideration when appraising the merits of your comments, but you will be BLOCKED due to your insolence, provocation, and libelous offense under my video. If you wish to spew forth any further anti-Hungarian or anti-American rhetoric, I urge you to find another forum for your opinions.

  • Pataki is a douche, but be careful not to put words in his mouth. Did he say "Slovaks are bad"? Just criticizing a law is not necessarily badmouthing the entire people.

  • Your opinion of Pataki, regardless of which state of the U.S. you may reside in, is invalid criticism, until and unless you present your own credentials to validate your criticism. In other words, it is wise to consider the source ( of the criticism), before taking the criticism seriously.

I did not hear him say Slovaks are bad; in fact, I cannot imagine him intentionally saying anything like that.

  • But, if you want to point out to me precisely where in the video he said that, I'll be pleased to review my video.

To quote you, "Just criticizing a law is not necessarily badmouthing the entire people." I agree. As with all people in the world, there is both good and evil among their numbers. Certainly, Slovaks do not escape this moral judgment, yet many of them reach a moral judgment of Hungarians without consideration for this fundamental truth.

  • By censoring what language viewers can reply in, aren't you doing exactly what you accuse the Slovaks of??????

  • I se that popcorn and you got my point precisely as I had intended it. It is unfair, isn't it? No more fair than the Slovakian Language Law, I assure you.

  • I agree:

...,, it is completly the opposite direction" ... you see :) you have to withdraw this law!!!!

Thanks for sharing this video :)

  • I se that aatlus and you got my point precisely as I had intended it. It is unfair, isn't it? No more fair than the Slovakian Language Law, I assure you.

  • Sorry, popcorn, my friend, I copied the message I wrote to aatlus here by mistake.

Any way one looks at this law, it is most decidedly an unfair, unjust law. Thank you for viewing and commenting on the video, my friend. :)

  • 5*****!

    5*****
