Ulali is organic and traditional sounds.... When the Great spirit manifests through divine sound it is self evident. Others can imitate but the feeling has no potency.
Sublime! ... I especially love the first half .. I could listen to it all day. They have the most perfect and beautiful layering of harmonies I have ever heard. Thanks for posting:) Hopefully they have a comeback and go touring one day, to Australia (in my dreams:) In the mean time I'm soooo glad there are recordings like this one to keep them alive and appreciated forever!
I like Walela, but I consider them 'Native American Lite'. Sort of like I consider The Celtic Women "Celtic Lite". Beautiful but watered down. Thank you for putting Ulali up for us to hear!
Walela - consisting of Rita Coolidge, her sister and others - record and perform traditional songs. While they sound similar to Ulali, theirs are more Cherokee and Apache.
These three women are three great reasons why American Indian culture is still alive and still thriving, and as long as there are woman and men, that keep passing the songs and knowledge along we will live on Osceola.
By the time I grew to really appreciate the beauty of their music they had already parted ways...I hope they perform together again sometime in the future.
I wish they would get back together. Ive been searching for women who sound as good as they do and have not had much luck. oh well im enjoying this for the time being.
They really are just astonishing, I've only been lucky enough to see them live twice but each time really was heart-stoppingly beautiful and moving. :)

All one needs to do is listen and feel.

Please don't refer to Walela on a Ulali thread, Ulali predates Walela. Walela also bit off of Ulali.

More, please! I've never had the privilege of seeing Ulali live. I think if I did, my heart would just about burst.
