I was raised on this!!!...Actually, ran this cassette into the ground!! This joint, "Cool Cat," "Mic Is On Fire," etc...Thanks for posting this. Seems like not enough folks know about this album.
this album was put together through a production deal through dj doc on select records. after the album was released i wasn't satisfied with the promotion and decided to opt out of the contract and forfeit my royalties. i also felt me and doc really didn't have good chemistry ( i was street and he was commercial) . so we parted ways.
originally i was a solo artist and i felt because doc got the deal with select, it was only right to create a group name to add to his shine as producer as well as being an excellent engineer for BDP,EPMD etc. i have done 3 albums since then. 1st produced by lifesource ,and the last 2 produced by me which was me really getting back to what i really like lyrically and musically: 1st: DA BIG APPLE 2 DA BIG ORANGE> 2nd: SCARED $ DON'T MAKE MONEY >3rd: MY MIC IS STILL ON FIRE......LORD SHAFIYQ
I got this on tape somewhere... maybe (gotta hunt it down). Taped it from Power99 here in Philly and only heard it played 3 or 4 times. This was the shit tho!
