Forgot MTV played music videos in which people played instruments other than a synthesizer back in the day. BTW I am entitled to say that because I am 37 not 17.
On that August day in 1981 I had just turned 14. I think I sat in front of my t.v. for 3 hours prior to the 'great event'. And there it was, on Cox Cable in Spokane, WA ... The Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star ... Nina, Mark, JJ and Martha ... for the first time.
And the intro to this video reminds me of how Mtv lost it's way from introducing great music to introducing failed Jersey girls.
@showyourtiggles I know when I'm just giving an opinion, and I know when I'm damn right, so I could not care less. Do bother to read twice what you're replying to. The SOUND in this video sucks, not the song. And yes, the song's been uploaded with better sound here in Youtube.
02/25/10 just saw them in omaha ne.fucking cool the best times laughs on everyone sooner or later so keep bringing happiness to your selves and others
Cracker has a great new album out called "Sunrise in the Land of Milk & Honey." Buy it and see them on their current tour. They're in Troy, NY 1/12, Philly 1/13, DC 1/14, NYC 1/15, Toronto 1/16. Off to Europe in Feb. and undoubtedly back on tour in the U.S. in the Spring and Summer.
are you kidding me. kersosene hat can be had anywhere, I tunes has it for christ sakes.. get yourself up and out and spend some shells......best album, right behind sandinista by the clash
#1 - Cracker was the most under-rated group of the early 90's. Never understood why, except maybe their lyrics were not what the "crowd" wanted to hear.
#2 - "U wanna change the world? Shit U're mouth and get on with it..." Hahahaha, true-er words were never spoken...................
Hey Cracker Fans - THe Brand New Cracker Album is available May 5th, 2009. It is called - Sunrise in The Land of Milk and Honey - check out the NEW VIDEO - Turn On Tune In Drop Out - right here on youtube.
yeah I graduated in 1996, and I think I belonged to the last generation that saw MTV as it was meant to be seen... but even then Missy Elliot and TLC had videos receiving heavy airplay... oh well video literally did kill the radio star
This is one of the best fucking songs from the 90s. Not only that, but this is one of the best fucking music videos from the 90s. If you see the animation techniques and randomness in this video, you can see originality in all its splendor as well as the product of boredom. In short, I wish I could give this damn good video like 20 stars or something.
Thank you for posting this video. I remember seeing it in 1994 when it premiered. Then I had videotaped it in 1996, but I lost the tape in a move some years ago. It's nice to see this vid again. This is one of my all-time favourite 90's alternative songs.
This was the first song I ever truly loved all on my own, as a result of my own tastes. I've been waiting to see this video again since I was 9! THANKS
