Actually a Grand National is a high 13 second car stock, but without doing anything more than adjusting the wastegate and adding some higher octane fuel you can get a GN to run 12's. And for reference the GS455 ran like a 13.07 in the 1/4 stock as opposed to the Ram IV's 13.12.

Altough my 502 BB in my 1971 nova can do a burnout by just droping the clutch and punching it. Hell it squeels the wheels whenever i shift i dont even need to try to do a burnout. roller lifters out perform any flat tappet style, you mean mechanical or hydraulic. there are 4 types, hydraulic flat tappet, solid flat tappet, roller hydraulic tappet, roller solid tappet. The Hydraulic flat tappets float way sooner in the rpm range than solids do. Rollers are better in any application assuming you can budget them because they will not go flat and wear lobes because of the low zinc content in the oils in todays oils. Rollers always out perform flat tappet of any sort.

i know what types exsist and their benefits/ drawbacks. tons of people use flat tappet cams without issue. they are cheap, and with the right valve springs they will rpm just fine. saying flat tappets suck is just flat out rediculous and ignorant because there are tons and tons of flat tappet motors producing cheap reliable power today including mine.

there is nothing wrong with a hydraulic cam and if you disagree you are misinformed and blinded by magazines or wherever else you get your incorrect information. most oils dont protect FT cams properly yes, but there are some oils that do and there are additives out there that can be added to any oil to make the motor run just fine.
