HELP! I have a phat psp 1000 m33-6 cfw, i have irshell 4,7 installed, but it doesnt recognize most of the buttons on my remote (it is ir), it only recognize turning tv off, and volume. I am using a hdtv receiver remote and the error message is:

waiting ir signal timeout

pls complete in 30 seconds

click any key to continue

@G5VIRUS888 maybe your remote has two led's in it. Hold a camera to it when you press a button. if it's two lights it won't be compatible becuase the psp only has one light.

3. what happens if you have a cable box like comcast? and you use the comcast remote to the tv

@UJustR4pedMe 1.) I tried both and they both work.

2.) i'm using 5.00

3.) If it's an RCA tv, you're screwed because i could never get that to work. um, if its comcast, i think the remote has two ir ports on that puppy. take a phone's camera, look into the remote's ir port when you're pressing a button. if you see two purple lights, then you probably can't do it. if it's one, then follow the instructions on my vid.

@UJustR4pedMe That's a really good question...I guess the way i would do it would destroy the whole purpose of the remote and that way is to buy a universal remote. If you still wanted to use the psp, you would have to program it from the remote.

or you can look up a program "Inrared Remote" for the psp on google.

You can hide your mac adress on the recovery menu-> configuration-> hide mac address...

What do you mean risks? It came with Irshell so it won't brick your system if that's what your asking.

Are you using a slim? if so then there's your problem. Slims don't have the Infrared light thingy like the phat's do.

yes, it will work on both, although I have trouble with products made by RCA. so be carfeul.

When I get to where it's waiting for the imput from the remote, I try hitting the remote's power button, and all the other buttons, and nothing happens. After about 15 seconds my PSP turns itself off. Any ideas? The Remote works fine on my tv, and the psp is fully charged and plugged in, and Im running ir shell 4.92, with 4.91 and 4.90 under it

i got it to work.

mine is phat.

but the psp takes a couple of presses to get the dvd player or stereo to do anything (also the signal i save doesn't do exactly what they on on the retail remotes, like the psp will turn them off but not on) and with the stereo i need to be really close, is that because my stereo is higher above everything else?

i think i was loading the 1.5 version, later i realized there were 2 ir shell's in the psp's game menu.

Well, there you go.

You have to remember that the PSP was not made to be a remote. So be patient if it won't work at first.
