The cobalt SS is not that much faster than an MS3. To really beat an MS3 you have to take advantage of launch control and no lift shift and if you aren't that good of a driver its gonna be a driver's all the way around.

you do realize the biggest criticism of the ms3 was its lack of top end right? there weak aftermarket and tendency to pop motors makes it a bad car to buy for speed and modifications (weak rods can barley handle 300 WHP). the caliber srt-4 and the ss TC are far superior to the ms3. 2010 will not change that.
i agree on that but the speed is the first car that really need TC in mazda companie compair to GM and Chrysler who does corvettes srt models... give time to mazda to ungrade this little probleme and any way why keppin' on ^^
wut in the flying fuck?? 300whp? ive been running over 300whp in my speed3 as a daily driver for the past year. no problems at all. car runs like a dream. we can handle over 350whp on stock rods and the right tuners have do it. some of these retards with ms3's wreck there own engines. running big turbos untuned with bov's and shit afr's. they deserve it
i have a k&n dropin in my ss/tc took 10 pounds of air out of the tires and ran a 13.9 @ 104. no lift shifting, that balt should of won, pretty sure the ms3 wasn't even close to stock if it won by that much.
Notice how the guys were happy and yelling? Because a speed3 wouldn't normally win. If you watch the other video this guy has the guys shut up when the cobalt is winning.
He said that the Cobalt won the other race and the mazda won this one. So its one to one, even. Do a standstill and the cobalt will win. From a roll, then its even.
P.S. Madza is partialy owned by Ford, and I hate Ford.. So much for Mazda being a full Japanese car.

The MS3 as well as all the 3's about built in hiroshima, Japan with 95% japanese parts.
whereas the cobalt is probably built in canada with a mix of mexican/ american made parts
