  • I'd love to see the original version where it's all uncut.

  • this is the best out of the 13 films in the series

  • This made me

    Cry :/

  • The Sadist scene in film history.

  • 6 years ago I cried watching this scene now I cry again T_T I love this movie!

  • fuarkk

  • I cried I miss this movie it made me so upset watching these clips :(

  • OH GOD WHY.

  • @sarentis no, no, no, i mean the dialogue. as in: "mother1? mother!? mother where are you!?" that line is similar to Bambi ( the original from 1942). not the fact that he doesn't speak with his mother as she dies. i didn't notice anything copied from Bambi 2, though.

hope i cleared my point up a bit for you.

  • i agree this scene is sad....... really sad.

however, being more of a Disney fan i'm sad to say that some of the dialogue is kind of the exact dialogue from Bambi when his mother dies.

  • @PeregrineFalconLady Bambi never got to speak with his mother as she dies. It happened out of sight and he only heard his father after searching for her. If you meant the second Bambi film, where he speaks to his mother in his dream, then yes it was extremely similar and kind of annoyed me. Land Before Time was made in 1988 and Bambi II was made in 2006... I'm not sure if you're trying to imply that LBT copied Bambi, but other than having a mother die that's not the case.

  • making me cry

  • First movie that made me cry

  • I watched this movie when I was about 9 or 10 together with my mother. When I was 12, she died. Now I'm 21 and I must say the Littlefoot's mother's death is shown very reliable. In this movie, there are all steps, all phases of feelings a child has when it's mother dies. Watching it is very therapeutic for me.

  • Oh the pain this scene have given me... After 11 years I can still feel the pain x'(

  • 2:41 Only advice ever needed in your entire life

  • i used to watch this show almost everyday when i was little and i just watched that one and it made me tear up alot!

omg so sad even though its a cartoon

it brings back memories of when i was 4

  • this scene is so freakin' sad, but it's just so beautifully made and deep. Really shows that life isn't easy as many other think it is. Don Bluth is a genius, i wish movies nowadays could be as deep and beautiful as this one

  • This truly one of the greatest movies I have had the pleasure of watching, and I would place it as being one of the best movies ever made. Now that I'm older, however, the historical inaccuracy now bugs me. Littlefoot and his mom were Apatosaurus and The T. Rex did not exist in the same time period. I know that the film was directed at younger audiences, but they should have made an allosaurus or a torvosaurus or another apex predator of the jurassic.

  • i think this was sadder than bambis mom dying,,,, if you want to know why, then just reply and i'll give you my honest opinion... now if you'll excuse me, i have to cry and fill my bathtub with my tears..

  • fucking tears. EVERYWHERE!

  • Saddest moment in my childhood. BY FAR.

  • poor little foot

  • i tried not to cry but you really have no choice.

  • the voice of littlefoot is the ganster kid from robocop 2...wtf???

  • wtf,... :'( fuck im like tearing up right now. amazing writing. damnnn way to go

  • Anyone who doesn't cry from this must not have a soul. I am a stoic, and yet I cried when I watched this.

  • 0:04 Sounds like the sound of an imp's growl in Doom/Doom 2.

  • I see cera's mom

  • Childhood memories...I miss watching this series. I want to watch it again, but my VHS tape and player broke. *sniff*

  • @107makoto1 YES!! The TAPE!!!

  • i cried

  • the first and the best ever land before time sequel.......

  • Its heartbreaking. Cry every time

  • Gay

  • @bruggesfc quit hating

  • @bruggesfc fag

  • :( I hated watching this part when I was little but the film was so good

  • i was tempted to hit the dislike button becuase this video made me so dam sad

  • Oh my god my emotions

  • Bambi in dinosaur form. :(

  • @RedRuffYami That Wimpy Deer?!?!?!? lol jk :D

  • this part kills me everytime I watch this :(

  • This movie was made before they knew for certain it was a cosmic impact that had destroyed the dinosaurs world...although this magnitude of an earthquake could only really have been produced by an impact event.

  • Why are you crying about the mother! Its the sharptooth that has the sad time here... now he cant bring back food for his little sharptooth, they will go on to starve and finally die....

  • Let me just go get a bucket for my creys...

  • This is one of the only things that can make me cry. This just brings back so many memories, good and bad, of my childhood. You can never be too old or "grown up" for movies like this.

  • Because Of These Movies I'm Proud To Have My Mother Back In Life Guys. Always Love And Respect Where You Came From Everyone!!!!!!

  • These films were my childhood! :')

  • Man! Why do one of the parents have to die saving the kid in one heartbreaking moment sniffle sniffle! Just like lion king!!! -.-

  • Oh i have this promo from cartoon networks cartoon theater.

  • Comment removed

  • this is sad

  • I forgot how beautiful the animation in this film was... And the scene with Littlefoots mom dieing is just heartbreaking.

  • I know I shouldn't nitpick, but why is Cera (I always thought it was Sarah, but not important) canary yellow while her parents are slate grey?

  • @ztslovebird Probaby just to better help the main characters stand out from one another. The film does have a lot of drab colours..

  • Best movie ever. Little foot lost his mother and got lost from his family. Yet no matter how hard it got on his journey he kept going and never gave up. Inspiring. As silly as this may sound... this movie makes me never want to give up. No matter how hard it gets we must all keep going. Because if we try hard enough... in the end we will be happy.

  • @LetsPanicy great view man

  • Im a 21 yr old man. Is it wrong for me tear up alot from this? Fuck.......

  • @karma661 na dude im 18 same thing

  • I'm a college girl and I cry whenever the cartoon characters I knew growing up lose their parents.

  • Damn, the old Disney thought us to be strong. Im so happy that im a 90's kid and could watch such masterpieces when i was young. Todays disney and all that shit is just brainwashing kids. Money and fame is the important in the new series/movies. This is love <3

  • : ( This always makes me cry. I watched the Lion King many times, but I don't cry anymore when Simba's dad falls down the cliff.

    Sigh... Damn dinosaurs >.<!

  • I still cry looking at this one.. *wipe tears* T_T

  • Oh my gosh, I've not fought that hard against tears since the last time I watched the swamps of sadness scene of the neverending story.

  • @kcf1591 I mean on the species of the two animals, not on when they first appeared on screen.

  • Mufasa's death is equally as sad as this, if not more

  • .... darn it... my pillow is wet from me crying... ugh

  • @LegendaryAsshole I know, but since Littlefoot is a dinosaur, he came before Bambi did...

  • This part makes me cry every time -.-

  • sad :(

  • you know something I've always wondered. Why is it even though Littlefoot's mother is probably the main reason they survived, Cera was still a bit mean towards him and made fun of his mother, sorta, til the almost end of the movie?

  • i haven't seen this movie in such a long time. this made me cry.

  • The scene after this when Littlefoot is seen crying by that older dinosaur is just as heart-wrenching. He's angry at his mother for leaving him, and he says it's "her fault, she should have known better." His tears and his innocence make me cry even more because he doesn't understand. Reminds me of when I lost my Grandpa..

  • Gets me EVERY time.

  • Died inside.

  • Manly tears were shed...

  • 5 people are just freaking jerks.

  • You know those scenes that if you cry to, you have to renounce your manliness?

This is not one of them.

  • @UberEpicSam every man cries, males are no exceptions, there are no reasons to be ashamed of it

  • i cry every time. i cant help myself.

    from:via

  • how many people can not watch this with out still crying.

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm, yupp, tears alert

  • omg this was so sad and still is ToT

  • *Eyes full of tears* Don Bluth in his glory days!

  • one of the most poignant moments in film history

  • Its been such a long time and I still cry at this scene

  • I loved this movie I am crying and I've always cried when I watched the part when LittleFoots mom died :(

  • it's amazing how i can tear up in less than 2minutes and 30seconds.

  • are this movies coming out on Blu Ray?

  • 3 people are Sharptooths

  • who are the 3 dislikes? the Taliban ?

  • I don't remember the road to the great valley... cus I was too depressed and crying my eyes out during 75% of the movie x'O

  • this makes me sad as it brings back bad memories

  • oh man its just like bambi T-T

  • This is when my childhood ended...

  • In didn't cry as a child, but now...

  • @Popsickle24680 exactly, there were things i saw in this movie recently that i just didn’t see when i was younger

  • I love my mum... I want her to live forever :(

  • You know its coming yet you still cry. This is what makes it so great.

  • I'm 24 now and this scene STILL gets me everytime... I guess because Littlefoot's mom reminds me so much of my own with how kind, gentle and motherly she is. Love this movie, along with The Lion King and An American Tale this was one of the definitive movies I remember as a kid.

  • This movie related so well to me, having lost my mother at a young age... makes me cry every time....

  • Before there was Bambi, there was Littlefoot...

When this came out, many people prefered this than Disney's latest film at the time, Oliver & Company, because it has that classic feeling Disney use to have during the 40s. It is also Don Bluth's greatest achievement and I grew up watching it for the last 18 years (19 this June). In fact, I was reading and studying palentology when I was only 5...

Boy, this film is just a classic and will continue to be for years to come!

  • @TheYuuzhan Pretty damn certain bambi came out before this. and bambi is disney, this is don bluth.

  • @TheYuuzhan i was just about to say he sounds like bambi ya know to a point i cant be sure if it is though

  • @TheYuuzhan False. Bambi came out in 1942, The Land Before Time came out in 1988.

  • @TheYuuzhan The sequels and TV show sucked majorly, but this is definitely one of Don Bluth's crowning achievements! I'd rank it above Secret of Nimh if only because this is an original story and Nimh was based on a book by the same name.

  • 100% tears.

  • beep you banbi beep you simba this is thae saddest beep ever!!!!!!! yay!!! i love tlbt!!!!!!!!!!!

  • (not crying)

"I'll always be with you, even if you don't see me."

    (close eyes)

    (think of my mom)

    (open eyes)

    ...

  • "I'll be with you, even if you can't see me."

Ugh. This was the first movie that ever made me cry as a child. It still kills me now lol.

  • @NeckTie92 Same here! My eyes are leaking like waterfalls right now. That just shows how well made this film was even to this day. :")

  • i'm dying here :'(

  • Mamoa <3

  • as sad and heart-breaking this scene is, Mufasa's death from The Lion King is sadder in my opinion

  • Notice in the first second of the movie when Littlefoot's mother's head is still on the ground before he calls for her. On her neck is a very obvious wound that Sharptooth had inflicted on her, just more proof of how much they had to edit and cut out of this film so that they could keep a G rating on it. In the original release you could actually SEE Sharptooth give her that wound but they cut it out.

  • @TeteraHiena You do still see him biting her neck via shadows on the wall, though don't notice it as much if you are focused on Cera and Littlefoot.

  • 'm not crying... I just have something in my eye... Like a piece of glass or something ;___;

  • this is so sad :'(

  • This IS sad...

But it's still no match (as far as scary shock value and death scenes) for Felidae O_O

Germany kept me from sleeping for two days...

  • the perfect sad scene. GAH! :'(

  • 3 people don't have a heart !!!

  • ok thats it i quit TV unless something GOOD is on I'm going back to my VHS's and old DVDs. gosh i love childhood classics :)

  • this is one of those movies where shit just keeps happening and won't let up! T-rex attacks, mother gets injured, clash of the continents causing an earthquake, protagonists separated from their families, mother dies, T-rex returns and attacks multiple times, threat of starvation, getting stuck in tar pits, etc. It's really traumatizing! lol

  • 0:39 ... on-screen death. Then more at 0:55 ... God... this movie...

  • when i saw this for the first time i was balling. 10 years later, still makes me cry

  • why does the part when he screams mother remind me of bambi?

  • @13clubpenguinfan

ikr? It's like they used the same dialog

  • @13clubpenguinfan because bambi did the same thing

  • This movie helped me come to grips with my mother dying when I was a teen.

  • i cried. im 17 and I loved this movie, my favorite.

  • THIS is what Land Before Time was... A deep, dark, depressing, yet still an enjoyable movie. This scene always made me cry as a child and still tugs at my heart strings today.

  • @nightspeller I agree though there are new the land before time movies they are more the sing along happy movies while this is quite depressing actualy though still enjoyable like you said

  • @Androidraptor No need to be vulgar or rude. For some people it's nice to remember their childhood, their years of simple innocence, when everything was less complicated and sweet. Did you have a bad childhood? If so I'm very sorry.

  • my god this makes my childhood complate

  • Still makes me Cry

  • I just realised that i used to watch this movie without even knowing english or reading the subtitles at all. But i still remember each and every word of their dialogs and the best part - i understood everything perfectly! o_o I freaking love that movie.

  • i'm 30 yrs old & i still cant keep from shedding tears over Littlefoot

s birth and his mother's death.

  • Dammit I have to watch this movie again. I keep forgetting how good it is until I see a clip of it!

  • Ante gamisou Land Before Time! Ante gamisou!

  • i got chills all over mah bawdy O.O :'(

  • jesus it gets me every fuckin time! saddest movie scene of all time followed by atreyu losing his horse to the swamps and mufasa fallin over the cliff.

  • Is it wierd that I was never sad as a child? I grew up with this movie and yet I never cried or was upset.

I guess I understood what she meant with "always being with you". She was still there why should I be sad? The logic of a child.

  • @Epsonthegiraffe I can relate to the "not being sad as a child" thing. When I was a child I didn't cry over movies....but now that I'm an adult, sometimes my emotions get the best of me, and I may shed tears over certain parts in movies.

Perhaps I ought to kick back and watch this movie, after, what, 20-something years? And I'll watch it with a better understanding, and see what happens.

  • I heard that the film was initially not supposed to have voice actors. It was just supposed to be narrated. That would've been interesting.

  • D': !!!

  • I haven't cried like this for years.

  • Weird, feels like I've never seen this scene before.

  • Not gonna cry, not gonna cry..

    ;___;

  • and at 2:34, my heart was ripped in half

  • @mrfizy as a kid it wasn't as painful a scene but as an adult where you know what's about to happen and littlefoot is sadly oblivious it fuckin sucks

  • Don Bluth animated some amazing yet seriously dark childrens movies.

  • 2 PEOPLE ARE OZZY AND STRUT!

  • The Land Before Time is the only movie that has ever made me cry. ever. That's why I only watch it once each year then forget about it.

  • Dang. I haven't seen this movie in so long. I've forgotten how sad this part is. *wipes tears away*

  • 2 people have no soul...

  • im 17 and i still cry about this part :,(

  • The "Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely." line kills me every time. I just lose it.

  • not cool, don bluth. NOT. COOL.

  • And to think... this is a KID'S movie!!! Yet I am 24 years old and balling my eyes out!!!!!

  • DAMN YOU HORNER, BLUTH, LUCAS, AND SPEILBERG!!! :,(

  • Littlefoot yelling , "Mother!" reminds me of Bambi. ): so sad.

  • @firestar4eva i know right? it just makes me wanna cry

  • I cried when me and my girlfriend watched this she called me a pussy but she just doesnt understand i guess
