I'm going to say the date is a little off as this show is not showing up on dmbalmanac. I would also say Trax, the stage isn't high enough for Flood Zone
there was one.. he played at Ardent Studios in Nashville, TN... his set included minarets, lover lay down, warehouse, ants marching, dancing nancies, tripping billies, satellite, apotlight, and true reflections....
exactly, if you read either of the books on Dave, Step Into The Light is one of the them, I can't remember the other... but the point is the band was getting much bigger and therefore they did not want people to think they were talking about themselves.
"if this song were anything other than a song...it would be a turd. and not a good turd either, a summertime, too much pizza and beer turd.." -David J Matthews...nonetheless i still like it lol
This song's called "In the Spotlight" - DMB agreed that they'd never play again for the public, as it might offend people who aren't rich like them :) ("...wouldn't you like to retire with a million bucks?")... YEAH!
Yeah, true. But people would understand that this song was written before they hit it big with UTTAD. Seek Up talks about wealth also, "Look at me and my fancy car, and my bank account..." and they still play that. They just don't play this song anymore because Dave hates it. It makes him want to throw up. I have dreams of this coming back in tease form or something.
You're right and wrong... it IS called "Spotlight" and it's NOT "...with the millions, boss". I've got a book written on DMB and it mentions that exact line being the reason they decided to not play it anymore in their public appearances.
i <3 this so much! please bring this back again!!!!

they stopped playing it because Dave eventually hated the lyrics, thinking it made them seem like they had big heads or such.
