  • not clear.

  • he should be embarrassed for uploading this totally incorrect method! how does he run his business? and did he invite his "friend" from holland to hold a pen that a chimpanzee could do but with so much more fun?! get a monkey for your next video mate!!!

  • bought my shims second hand an didn't get a manuel, why spool this way when all others tell ya to spool on with the spool side on.is this shims correct way

  • This is wrong. If you load line like this you will get line twist.

  • Is there a video for how to spool line onto an underspin closed reel?

  • smokemansmoker: you are so right. The amount of problems you will get will make you throw the damm thing in the sea! I was taught over 30 years ago and the only thing I do different is to put the spool in water first. Thats just my choice and it has served me well for all these years.

  • this method is totally wrong, i can't believe that this is a shimano guide!

  • Are they trying to sell more line ? who cares about using a grinner knot if you are then going to totally screw up putting the rest of the line on the wrong way !

do this and you will get a twisted mess !

  • @smokemansmoker , right there is a spinning reel spool. Faggot.

  • sorry, but advertising and working for shimano, you should really know how to spool a fixed spool the correct way, this is totally wrong for a fixed spool and will cause line twist, the line should be coming off the new spool of line anti clockwise with the label looking at you(most of the time) to lay it perfect with very little line twist, sorry but you have just failed big time ,stick to carp fishing and not technical stuff you know nothing about ;)

  • @themajor38 sorry but carp fishing is perhaps one of the most technical types of fishing on the planet...

  • @dkindt69 yes tell me about it,i had 200 plus pound on dog biscuits with a pole, just touching the biscuit on the water because they wouldnt take it when the line was touching, but big specimen hunting ,well thats where you excel and something i know little about so hats off to you for that.the method feeder is one of the best ways i like to fish when pleasure fishing as the bites are amazing :) it isnt really technical to lay line on a reel and your way works, but correctly done is better ;)

  • @themajor38 wow i didn't even know carp existed that large! My PB is only around 35 lbs i believe.... I'm more of a PVA stick guy then method feeders... i used to like method feeders because of the quick reloading.... sometimes i don't use any groudbait at all and just use my spod mix to attract them to my marker and just cast my hook bait by all the particles/maize i've spodded.... actually works better IMO.... i agree with you about how important spooling can be.... nothing worse than twists

  • @dkindt69 i wish they did grow that big lol my biggest in that session was 17and a half pound, not too bad on a pole ;)

  • @dkindt69 thats bull shit man, I could catch a carp if I was def blind and dumb! by myself.

  • @dkindt69 technical...? how technical it is to cast once, stick your rod on the ground and wait for the fish to bite while you read the sunday newspaper. I can make catching panfish very technical if I wanted to...

  • I have one of those reels and had a problem getting the line on it after opening up the box. I finally got the line on and have yet to use it though. I have 2 Zebco reels which won't lock up the line for some reason. It must be something I'm doing wrong. I stopped using them and put a different reel on the pole.

  • The video is by thundermistlures..called..how to spool line onto your reel and avoid twists.

  • I just watched a video which tells you...spooling this way will only lead to line twists, the best way is to let the line come over the lip of the spool, hanging to the right.

Also the knot he used to attach the line to the reel spool was far simpler.

  • ffs thought this was frank gallagher from shamless !!

  • @davidandrewstatter that was my first thought too

  • you are a retard put the spool into a bucket of water with fairy liquid or whatever you have thats similar init, then reel in so this also strengthens your line AND YOU DONT NEED SO RETARDED HOLLANDISH TWAT helping you, sincerley

    grandtheftwazak.

btw i i am going to start putting videos of fishing on so if you would like to subscribe to me then that would be good because i will be showing how to actually do this properly, knots, how to etc. thanks

  • @rhysifuL yeah...sitting and waiting for carp to bite thy boilies..boring..

  • @noahfb1

You're right..waiting for Carp to take boilies is boring...In the summer I catch off the surface on bread or dog biscuit...had an 18lb Mirror back in June.

In colder weather like now, I spin for Pike/Perch...recently had 4lb and 5lb Perch.

    Not boring at all,

  • dosnt a grinner knot wrap around 6 x's first then a loop and 6 more x's? he only wraps the line around the spool and then makes a loop and wraps around 6 x's once, he missed the first 6 x's after he wrapped it around the spool.

  • @iluvfatchx

agreed i think he ties a unity knot. not a grinner.

  • This method works for Shimano reels with Powerrollers. Since I started spooling my Shimano's this way I have had NO line twist issues. Won't work for other reels that I have tried But the shimano reels with the power roller it works perfect. The owners manual actually decribes this method too.

  • He invited his friend from Holand to do a wrong demonstration....

  • all you slaggin jan will never have caught half the fish he has

  • I didn't know British ppl fish haha

  • shimano should be embarrassed

  • I been fishing for 3 months now and even i know this method is wrong lol

  • Since I use a baitcasting reel normally and have problems with line twist on spinning reels I have looked and read 20 different ways to put line on a spinning reel. I think this guy is an idiot. This is the only time I have ever seen anyone run the spool perpendicular to the reel.

  • hairy muppet

  • Caveman, lol

  • Absolutely WRONG!!!

  • idiots...i think i wont agree that's perfect

  • drown this pot head

  • this guys a dope . he doesnt know how to spool a reel

  • yah, show use how to get the twist out of the line now.

  • he does look a like the guys in the commercial, so easy even acaveman can do it lol.

  • can't see the line.. perhaps u can use BIG line for show purpose..

  • Thanks Eric, you really helped so much.

  • so easy a caveman can do it hahahahahahaahahahaahahahah

  • Your spoolling it for a baitcast reel. For a spinning reel you want to lay the spool down so the line comes off the spool the same way it comes off the spinning reels spool.

  • very good point :-)

  • good way to do it its how ive done it but the spool does get hot on your finger tips after a bit,haha...

  • that was so perfect you are amazing! cool hair too

  • Proper way for spinnin reels is to lay the spool on the floor label down and have the last eye a few feet above. Start reeling for a bit then stop and lower your tip. If it twists flip the spool, label side up then continue. The pencil way works for baitcasters.

  • Better watch those line twists, you beagley son of a bitch.

  • When you get massive tangles coming off your reels, head out in the boat, open the bail, let the line run out down to the spool, then slowly reel it back in. This puts tension on the line and also gets any line twist out.

  • @mboettch Great now all I need is a boat and 300m of water under it ;)

  • So wrong! and when you overspool with this method you're really asking for trouble.

  • get a haircut catweazle

  • so easy a caveman could do it!

  • @ronny2471 Good one ronny!

  • @ronny2471 HAHAHA

  • i reel in, but nothing is turning.

  • This is all wrong. This is asking for line twists and birdnesting.

  • I don't agree whith that, cause line feeding spool must be hold in the same position than shimano reel, to be transferred without twist.

    thanks. Márcio. Brazil.

  • jolly good

  • this is the way i do it i always get line twist y?

  • fail

  • i spooled this way for years and always had line twist look at thundermistlures video.you should stick to drumming

  • the correct way to spool a spinning reel is to turn the line spool so its side faces the front of your reel. the line has to coil off the spool onto your reel in the same manner it coils off your reel. most tackle shops will spool the line the way the vid shows whichis wrong for a spinner.they do it that way cause its faster.

  • if any one cud help me, pls do

How do u get the line on the reel at first, on a new reel, i dnt know how to get it started???

  • use an arbor knot

  • but if u put enough line on the reel, it truely doesnt make a huge difference..

  • Smaller reels use less line. it doesn't happen often, but a fish can spool a hundred yards very quick.

  • @bassgrassorass a hundred yards??? Are u deep sea fishing???

  • JTWILBER, you are correct. Why in the world would Shimano put out a video that is incorrect.

  • Am I nuts or is this wrong. Everything I've seen says to spool off the END of the spool to lessen twist on spinning rod. Do it your way with conventional. Just a thought.

  • i agree i gave up on freshwater after catching my first shark

  • how do you get the line under the barrel

  • in the uk do u guys only catch carp

  • no we catch cat fish, pike, musky

  • no, roach, rudd, perch skimmer, bream, tench, trout, barbel, all sorts!!!!

  • Like some would say "I'm going fishing for some black fish" as opposed to "Goin' fishing for some tautog". Same shit, different word, yet equally right. Go figure!

  • I'd imagine the word is regional. Who are you to to determine who says what, when and where?

  • also known as uni

  • great vid...thanks for putting it up for guys like me :)
