Soak the line for 24 hours then spoil it on the same way it lays on the coil or your fucked!!! Basic stuff how is this so called shimano vid such wank? They make reels for fucks sake ha ha!!!
he should be embarrassed for uploading this totally incorrect method! how does he run his business? and did he invite his "friend" from holland to hold a pen that a chimpanzee could do but with so much more fun?! get a monkey for your next video mate!!!
bought my shims second hand an didn't get a manuel, why spool this way when all others tell ya to spool on with the spool side on.is this shims correct way
This is totally wrong information!! I trusted that this guy knew what he was talking about because of the Shimano connection. I spoolled up my new Shimano reel exactly has this guy explains and I got nothing but line twists. After playing a Carp of only 10lb. the line was a right mess... ended up binning it. Pissed off about wasting time and money.
smokemansmoker: you are so right. The amount of problems you will get will make you throw the damm thing in the sea! I was taught over 30 years ago and the only thing I do different is to put the spool in water first. Thats just my choice and it has served me well for all these years.
Are they trying to sell more line ? who cares about using a grinner knot if you are then going to totally screw up putting the rest of the line on the wrong way !
sorry, but advertising and working for shimano, you should really know how to spool a fixed spool the correct way, this is totally wrong for a fixed spool and will cause line twist, the line should be coming off the new spool of line anti clockwise with the label looking at you(most of the time) to lay it perfect with very little line twist, sorry but you have just failed big time ,stick to carp fishing and not technical stuff you know nothing about ;)

@dkindt69 yes tell me about it,i had 200 plus pound on dog biscuits with a pole, just touching the biscuit on the water because they wouldnt take it when the line was touching, but big specimen hunting ,well thats where you excel and something i know little about so hats off to you for that.the method feeder is one of the best ways i like to fish when pleasure fishing as the bites are amazing :) it isnt really technical to lay line on a reel and your way works, but correctly done is better ;)
@themajor38 wow i didn't even know carp existed that large! My PB is only around 35 lbs i believe.... I'm more of a PVA stick guy then method feeders... i used to like method feeders because of the quick reloading.... sometimes i don't use any groudbait at all and just use my spod mix to attract them to my marker and just cast my hook bait by all the particles/maize i've spodded.... actually works better IMO.... i agree with you about how important spooling can be.... nothing worse than twists
@dkindt69 technical...? how technical it is to cast once, stick your rod on the ground and wait for the fish to bite while you read the sunday newspaper. I can make catching panfish very technical if I wanted to...
I have one of those reels and had a problem getting the line on it after opening up the box. I finally got the line on and have yet to use it though. I have 2 Zebco reels which won't lock up the line for some reason. It must be something I'm doing wrong. I stopped using them and put a different reel on the pole.
I just watched a video which tells you...spooling this way will only lead to line twists, the best way is to let the line come over the lip of the spool, hanging to the right.
Also the knot he used to attach the line to the reel spool was far simpler.
you are a retard put the spool into a bucket of water with fairy liquid or whatever you have thats similar init, then reel in so this also strengthens your line AND YOU DONT NEED SO RETARDED HOLLANDISH TWAT helping you, sincerley
grandtheftwazak.
btw i i am going to start putting videos of fishing on so if you would like to subscribe to me then that would be good because i will be showing how to actually do this properly, knots, how to etc. thanks
You're right..waiting for Carp to take boilies is boring...In the summer I catch off the surface on bread or dog biscuit...had an 18lb Mirror back in June.
In colder weather like now, I spin for Pike/Perch...recently had 4lb and 5lb Perch.
dosnt a grinner knot wrap around 6 x's first then a loop and 6 more x's? he only wraps the line around the spool and then makes a loop and wraps around 6 x's once, he missed the first 6 x's after he wrapped it around the spool.
This method works for Shimano reels with Powerrollers. Since I started spooling my Shimano's this way I have had NO line twist issues. Won't work for other reels that I have tried But the shimano reels with the power roller it works perfect. The owners manual actually decribes this method too.
Since I use a baitcasting reel normally and have problems with line twist on spinning reels I have looked and read 20 different ways to put line on a spinning reel. I think this guy is an idiot. This is the only time I have ever seen anyone run the spool perpendicular to the reel.
Your spoolling it for a baitcast reel. For a spinning reel you want to lay the spool down so the line comes off the spool the same way it comes off the spinning reels spool.
Proper way for spinnin reels is to lay the spool on the floor label down and have the last eye a few feet above. Start reeling for a bit then stop and lower your tip. If it twists flip the spool, label side up then continue. The pencil way works for baitcasters.
When you get massive tangles coming off your reels, head out in the boat, open the bail, let the line run out down to the spool, then slowly reel it back in. This puts tension on the line and also gets any line twist out.
the correct way to spool a spinning reel is to turn the line spool so its side faces the front of your reel. the line has to coil off the spool onto your reel in the same manner it coils off your reel. most tackle shops will spool the line the way the vid shows whichis wrong for a spinner.they do it that way cause its faster.
Am I nuts or is this wrong. Everything I've seen says to spool off the END of the spool to lessen twist on spinning rod. Do it your way with conventional. Just a thought.
Like some would say "I'm going fishing for some black fish" as opposed to "Goin' fishing for some tautog". Same shit, different word, yet equally right. Go figure!
not clear.
