  • I'm trying to learn the chanter, tho' this stuff is a bit complicated for a beginner, you're very inspiring . . . THANKS!

  • Dear Vicki. I found this tune to be really wonderful and can see you put a lot more into than the notes on the sheet could convey. I play the ssp`s by maker Murdo out of Arran. I tune in on A and switch out a drone to tune in on D, but after listening to your tune, I realize neither of my setups sounds anything remotely similar to your fine pipe and fine piping. If I may ask, what does your chanter tune in at, and are your drones on a 5th and on the tonics? SUPER CURIOUS! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hello!

The pipes I've got in this piece are Smallpipes in D. I've got two drones on, both are tonic Ds and octave apart. I hope this helps!

    :))

  • Awesome! Thanks

  • The link in the info box goes to "In the Kitchen" and "On the Mash"... Fabulous tunes, but not "Scotty's Last Munro", which is a great, haunting little aire.

  • fixed it this time!

    :)

  • I've put the link to the sheet music in the info box.

    Thanks!

  • nice job...who made the pipes?

  • The pipes are Scottish Smallpipes in A by Hamish Moore. I love them!

  • your playin is TIGHT!!!

    i love it.

  • Deep and mighty. Thank you pipervix.

  • Brill tune, fierce playing-i wish we were neighbours

  • I'm thinking of becoming Scottish.

  • This is an accurate adaptation of the articulatory expression consistant in effective piping. Even experienced pipers can learn something from this gal.

  • Hi vicki - lovely playing and a great tune!!! Ive just rejoined the lbps after a break (marriage and child related!!) and and getting back into it again.

all the best, Scott the Aussie

    Hart Smallpipes in C

  • Is it a hard transition to switch from the highland pipe to the smallpipe? I still have a couple months to go with just practicing the chanter.

  • I don't play the Highland Pipes so I don't really know. I do find it quite hard to go from border pipes to smallpipes though as there is a difference in the pressure on the bag.

  • I've also found that border pipes are a great deal more pressure sensitive than smallpipes. Very nice sound and a very nice tune.

  • Muy hermosas piezas. Me gusta mucho como están tocadas

Very beautiful pieces. I like it very much like they are played

  • makes me want to cry

  • very nice! :-)

  • Are those Hamish Moore smallpipes in A?

  • Yup, they sure are.

    :)

    Vx

  • I thought I recognized that sound! They sound great.

  • Very pretty tune.
