If I wreck my car with no collision insurance, should I be able to upgrade to full coverage and get my car fixed under the upgraded coverage? We'd shoot ourselves in the foot if we had to pay what rates would be if we forced insurance companies to cover insurance after the fact like, flood insurance, homeowner fire and theft insurance. Just wait till you have a claim, then get insurance... Thats not how insurance works. At least in the USA

Medicare has already made many cuts in anticipation.

Many doctors do not accept medicare and medicaid anymore because they receive late and very small payments.

The insurance Companies have a small margin of profit, we had many, the democrats created the monopoly that we have now.

Here in Israel we would never allow insurance companies to charge us for providing a necessary service. Israelis have a solidarity that even 300 million Americans don't.

But on matters of looking out for our country, we in Israel actually care about the people who live here. In USA it seems Americans care about the country but not about providing all the Americans with the healthcare.

I think the GOP is walking into a trap regarding its taking up the torch for insurance companies.

Specifically, they will shoot themselves in the foot when trying to defend the practice of refusing to treat victims of pre-existing conditions.

Here in Israel we would never allow pre-existing conditions clauses.

EVERYONE in the USA gets treatment. What you are referring to is a company paying for that treatment.

What other kind of insurance cover's pre-existing conditions? Can I get home insurance while my house is on fire? You should educate yourself on how an insurance business works.

If you want to pay for pre-existing conditions then start a charity so people can WILLINGLY give their money to the cause rather than you taxing (taking it FORCEFULLY) or destroying an industry.

I think you are missing the point. The goal of USA, as it is here in Israel, must be to make sure everyone has healthcare, no matter how much money you have.

For instance, a rich politician here will get the same healthcare a poor rabbi gets, and it will cost the same. In USA that is not possible because giving healthcare to the poor rabbi is bad for business.

I think USA should outlaw profiteering in health matters. We in Israel would never allow companies to charge us for healthcare.

It is illegal to refuse someone medical treatment.. The insurance companies do not provide treatment, THEY PAY FOR IT if you enter into a contract with them. Someone else paying for your health care is not a right.
