If any show rips off X-Files it is deffenitly not Fringe. I think Supernatural is more of an X-Files rip off. Oh hell they are all good shows anyways.

Fringe is like X-Files in that there is a secret division that deals with odd/freaky things. X-files was about the government covering up Aliens & Fringe is about the government covering up unethical scientific experiments. So they are alike, but equally good =)

X-Files was the best show ever, But Fringe is good enough for the people who loves the good sci-fi shows. And that is only my opinion, of course .XD
