The Dead actually transcended drugs. Here we are, thirty plus years later, their music is better than ever. Yeah, I was there in SF during the early 70s at Winterland etc... and enjoyed the whole scene. In hindsight, the drugs, although a part of the whole deal, were just a footnote to the creative genius of the Dead. The music will live on forever.
