ok in a power to weight ratio the two stroke has it every time. it will also rev quicker. but the 4 stroke is more relible will last longer. and produces more torgue so they r better in any place where traction is needed. this is y they have now taken over the race series. that and the fucking epa.

plus 125cc twostroke race bikes have the highest horsepower per liter then any other dirt bike engine ever made look it up,and as for reliability go's fourstroke race bikes need to be rebuild every 80 to 100 hours twostrokes every 30 to 50 hours butttt try to rebuild a fourstroke laughs good luck,twostrokes much easer to build guys.

and whoever said a blaster doesn't have torque is just stupid,it's a 195cc twostroke and for a kid that races it's perfect,I'm 6.1" 194lbs and it pushes me hella fast,I have a 2005 cr250r and let me tell everyone here twostrokes are the fastest period,pound for pound they can't be touched,it's pretty bad when people have to compare a 450 4poker to a 250 twostroke lol now say it ain't sooo.

but they do both need some frame gusseting I will warn everyone looking at this now thinking ohhh well I'll just have a race motor with a stock frame and go racing,well if you do that YOU WILL CRACK YOUR FRAME trust me I've seen it to much on the 300ex and blaster,you must have at least boot gussets.

a properly done race blaster will beat a 300ex any day,now I'm not talking a blaster your sister is driving no no,I'm talking 240kit 3+stroker keihin pwk 35mm airstriker carb fully ported cylinder and advanced timing of 4 degree with f7 or lrd pipe,then thow in a z400 rear shock and some banshee front shocks g-force axle some nice a-arms and you got it made.

Reason Im asking is because I have a blaster and I am thinking that I might want to trade for a 300ex. I don't race, I trail ride alot. The one I want is already nodded. It has a 330 big bore and a bunch of other stuff

um if u r modifying them the 300ex will be better but if they are stock the blaster will be better. Personally the 300ex is a better race quad but for me a 2 stroke will always be funner to ride;)

Ive raced both in nationals, the 300 is a smoother ride when you have to deal with breaking bumps, my 2mm blaster screamed more on holeshots, its all in your prefrence I was more comfortable on my blaster then my 300 both had everything

For the stage 2 TC motor, pipe, and fcr carb it was $3500 but that is the best set up money can buy so if you want to just want to be competitive you can get away with $1000-1500 by ether getting small stuff done to ur motor or u can get faster parts for the same price but they would be used. It is all what you would rather have? Fast used or Moderate new?
