ive been looking around at different sites that make erb. And id like to get a 9 string bass and tune it Gb,B,E,A,D,G,C,F,Bb. Ive decided that i like bee basses and conklins. But idk which one to go with. Does anyone have any advice on what i should do?
How do the other lower strings fair in terms of frequency and audibility on your bass cabinet? Are they fairly audible since you go down to a low F# or is the frequency too low to be heard?
The lowest note on my bass is low B. I use an Avatar 210 cab with an Aguilar 500sc head. The low B sounds amazing, but that has more to due with the bass i'm using.
@DuxJerome Thanks, it does weigh quite a bit. Reaching the Low B on my 9 isn't as bad as it looks. The key to comfort on the left fretting hand while playing Extended Range Bass, is making sure you adjust your left hand thumb accordingly on the back of the neck.
Thank you very much! The Delano pickups had to be custom ordered direct from Delano and custom wound for my bass. Fred Bolton from Bee Basses placed the custom order for me. The electronics set up is insane to describe it simply. It can go from a very throaty/organic sound, to a extreme hi-fi sound. The electronics set up is a "Brady Muckelroy" inspired setup, which just about covers everything. Its passive as well as active. The preamp on my bass is the standard "Bee Pre".
Thank you! My bajo is tuned in standard 4ths tuning, B E A D G C F Bb Eb.
A bass exactly like mine would cost you about $6 to 7 thousand dollars, in United States currency if you order one from Bee Basses. VERY REASONABLE PRICE. Bee Basses prices will go much higher in the near future. They are worth every penny!

Very nice bass. Looks heavy. Can you actually reach the B string comfortably?
Most nine string bass players dont use the top three strings much beacause they are hard to reach.
